My best bet
Lauri Markkanen Over 23.5 points (-115 at bet365)
My analysis
The Utah Jazz aren’t having the greatest campaign, sitting at 4-12, which puts them in 14th place in the Western Conference. Lauri Markkanen’s numbers are also down so far, averaging just 19.9 points per game compared to 23.2 PPG last season. However, it’s still early, and the Finnish sharpshooter is playing a lot better lately.
Markkanen has hit the Over in points in three straight appearances, pouring in 34 in his latest game against the New York Knicks on November 23rd. Before that, he scored 27 versus these San Antonio Spurs and 25 against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 27-year-old is averaging exactly 23.5 points per night in two contests against San Antonio in 2024-25. Also, last season, he put up 27.3 points per game in three outings vs. Victor Wembanyama & Co.
The Jazz come in well-rested and Markkanen has a hot hand.

Harrison Barnes has carved out a nice role in San Antonio as one of the veterans alongside Chris Paul. The former NBA champion has started all 17 games, averaging 11.5 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists on 29.2 minutes per night. He’s also shooting 43.9% from 3-point land.
The 32-year-old doesn’t typically put up a bunch of points, but with Wemby having just missed a few contests, Barnes stepped up. He’s comfortably hit the Over in points in three consecutive, scoring 20, 25, and 22 against his former team in the Golden State Warriors on November 23.
Wembanyama soared past his minutes restriction in his return on Saturday but the Spurs will be cautious about easing him back into a hefty workload. I expect Barnes to have more chances to score the rock again tonight. He did drop 25 against the Jazz last week, too.
The Spurs have played well vs. Utah in recent memory, winning three of the last four dating back to March. San Antonio is also hot right now and has no shortage of confidence. I mean, they did just beat two of the best teams in the West in the Thunder and the Warriors while also grabbing a victory against the Jazz in between.
Wemby is back and the Spurs are thriving. Yes, they’re only 1-5 on the road, but I really like how this squad is playing.
