Familiar Western Conference foes face off in the Mile High city tonight as the Suns visit the Nuggets for the fourth time this season. Denver has gotten the better of Phoenix in two of three, but the Suns can even up the season series with a road win at Ball Arena.
My Suns vs. Nuggets predictions expect Nikola Jokic to pile up the counting stats on the way to a comfortable Denver victory. Read my NBA picks to see why you should bet the Over on Jokic’s combo prop and how to handle the spread and point total.
Suns vs Nuggets prediction
My best bet
Nikola Jokic triple-double (-130 at bet365)
My analysis
Nikola Jokic has appeared in 56 games this season, and he’s recorded a triple-double in exactly half of them. The reigning MVP is just one triple-double away from tying his career-high, and he’s just three shy of Wilt Chamberlain’s single-season record for a center.
Though Jokic has three MVP seasons already under his belt, he’s been even better in 2024-25. Joker is averaging 28.8 points, 12.8 rebounds and 10.4 assists heading into the final stretch of the season. The points and assists are career highs, and the rebounds are second-best.
Jokic has been a slightly better scorer and rebounder at home than on the road this season, and his assist numbers are nearly identical. Of his 28 triple-doubles, 15 have come at Ball Arena. He’s posted a triple-double in three of his last six overall and two of his last four at home.
Jokic’s PRA line is set at 51.5, and hitting the Over is certainly attainable for a player as productive as Jokic as a scorer, rebounder and facilitator. Since the break, Jokic has taken a step back as a scorer, but his rebound and assist numbers are up, which is why I’m more comfortable targeting the triple-double prop rather than the PRA prop.
Pre All-Star break, Jokic averaged 29.8 points, 12.6 rebounds and 10.2 assists. Since returning from the break, he’s averaged 22.3 points, 14.1 rebounds and 11.1 assists.
On the season, the Phoenix Suns have allowed opposing centers to average 24.8 points, 16.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists, good for fourth-most points and third-most rebounds. Over the last seven, Phoenix has been even more generous to opposing big men with averages of 23.8 points, 19 rebounds and 4.9 assists.
As of Friday morning, Jokic is listed as questionable for the matchup with Phoenix, but I’m writing this piece as if he’ll be available. Make sure to keep an eye on his status leading up to tonight’s tip-off.
Suns vs Nuggets same-game parlay
The Denver Nuggets are 14-10-1 ATS as the home favorite, while Phoenix is 12-19 ATS on the road and 5-9 as the road underdog. The Suns beat the Nuggets by 10 on Christmas, but Denver won the other two season matchups by at least 17. Phoenix has struggled with consistency this season, and the Nuggets have been tremendous at home. I’ll back them to win by at least eight tonight.
The Nuggets have hit the Over in 15 of 25 as the home favorite, and the Suns have done so in eight of 15 as the road underdog. Those trends lean toward an Over pick, but both teams have leaned Under as of late. Phoenix has hit the Under in two of its last three, and Denver has hit the Under in five of its last seven. The Under has hit in five straight head-to-head matchups.

Suns vs Nuggets score prediction
Score prediction: Nuggets 120, Suns 110
The Nuggets are the better team, and they have a clear advantage at home. I’ll back them to win for a third time in four head-to-head matchups this season.
