The Buffalo Bulls will try to keep their slim hopes of appearing in the MAC Championship alive as they visit the Eastern Michigan Eagles for a midweek clash tonight at Rynearson Stadium. The game airs live at 7:00 p.m. ET on ESPNU.

The Bulls seem to be finding their way on offense and should beat a floundering Eagles squad, as I’ll detail in my Buffalo vs. Eastern Michigan predictions and college football picks for Wednesday, November 20.

Buffalo vs Eastern Michigan prediction and best bet

Who will win Buffalo vs Eastern Michigan?

This is a tough matchup between two middle-of-the-road MAC teams, and my first instinct was to give Eastern Michigan the edge because they are at home.

But I like what I’ve seen out of the Bulls offense in recent weeks, while the Eagles have sputtered in conference play. Buffalo should come out on top and deny Eastern Michigan bowl eligibility for at least one more week.

My analysis
The raw numbers this season for these two teams suggest a tight battle that might be too close to call. But their respective play in MAC games, especially over the past few weeks, has me strongly favoring the Buffalo Bulls.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles have lost three straight games and four of their last five. Most recently, the Ohio Bobcats demolished the Eagles 35-10 last week, and an earlier loss to the Akron Zips — Akron’s only conference win this season — was possibly even more concerning.

Over the last three weeks, Eastern Michigan has averaged just 19.7 points per game while allowing its opponents to score an average of 29.7 points. While Ohio and the Toledo Rockets are solid enough teams, that’s still a disappointing run, especially when you consider the Eagles aren’t getting much of a dip in competition by hosting Buffalo this week.

Meanwhile, Buffalo is coming off of two straight wins against Akron and the Ball State Cardinals, averaging 46 ppg in those victories. The Bulls are running the ball efficiently, averaging 4.5 yards per carry over their last two games while scoring seven times on the ground over those two outings.

EM can’t really stop anyone from doing anything, and that includes the running game. The Eagles allow an average of 4.6 yards per rush and 6.3 yards per play overall, and that defense has looked even shakier over the past few weeks as they’ve floundered after a strong 4-1 start.

The mitigating factor here could have been the Buffalo defense, which also ranks outside the Top 100 in the nation, allowing 30.9 ppg. But the Eagles put up just 266 yards of total offense against Ohio last week and don’t have a particular strength I think will tear apart the Bulls.

Make no mistake: This will be a shootout between two teams that don’t have much ability to compete on the defensive side of the ball. However, I see more promising signs from Buffalo in all phases of the game, while the Eagles are struggling to find wins down the stretch.

Buffalo vs Eastern Michigan same-game parlay (SGP)

Buffalo moneyline

Over 52.5

C.J. Ogbonna anytime touchdown

I like Buffalo’s offense to carry the day on Wednesday, and that’s the basis of my same-game parlay. Both teams regularly exceed this total, and the Bulls have hit the Over in six consecutive games.

C.J. Ogbonna has scored six times on the ground this year, tied for the team lead with Al-Jay Henderson. But Ogbonna has three touchdowns in the last two games, and we can get him at much better odds, making him the best play for our parlay.

Ed's advice to new bettors is to always open multiple sportsbook accounts and check the odds at each before placing any bet. Successful sports betting is about consistently beating the closing line value, which requires finding spots where one book is offering odds far better than the rest of the market and jumping on those opportunities.
