It’s the battle for the Keystone State on Sunday afternoon when the Philadelphia Eagles host the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lincoln Financial Field in a matchup of two division leaders.

With both teams possessing top-notch defenses, my Steelers vs. Eagles predictions expect the offense to be even colder than the weather. Find out more in today's NFL picks for this 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff on FOX.

Steelers vs Eagles prediction

Who will win Steelers vs Eagles?

While these are two of the best teams in the NFL by record, the Eagles are the clear favorite against their Pennsylvania rivals. Philly is listed at -5.5 against a 10-3 Steelers team that’s leaned way too much on a strong defense.

Without George Pickens, it’s going to be too difficult for Russell Wilson and Co. to hang enough points to pull out the victory.

I have Philadelphia winning this one 20-17.

My analysis
Although the Philadelphia Eagles have been among the best offensive teams in the NFL this season, this Pittsburgh Steelers defense has had moments that would remind old heads of the old Steel Curtain of the 70s.

So while Saquon Barkley has been running away in the Offensive Player of the Year odds, T.J. Watt has been doing the same on his side of the football in Defensive Player of the Year odds.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts sits just 14th in EPA per play among QBs and has committed 14 throws this season that are deemed turnover-worthy plays according to PFF. The Steelers are third in EPA per dropback on defense, and Hurts' inconsistent play should allow Pittsburgh to key in on Barkley.

If Pittsburgh can keep Philly’s scoring to a minimum, the Eagles are in good shape to return the favor to Russell Wilson and the Steelers’ offense. Despite Pittsburgh’s winning record, the offense ranks 15th in EPA per play and will be without top wideout George Pickens.

Philly’s defense is allowing the fewest yards per game in the league (284.2) and boasts the No. 2 mark in EPA per rush on defense. The defense is built to slow running back Najee Harris, so the Steelers aren’t going to find the end zone much.

These teams combined to allow just 36.3 points per game this season, and I have a hard time seeing either defense giving an inch in this matchup.

Steelers vs Eagles same-game parlay

Under 43

Russell Wilson Under 195.5 passing yards

Saquon Barkley Under 100.5 rushing yards

Without Pickens, it’s going to be a nearly impossible task for Wilson to clear 195.5 passing yards. The Eagles are allowing the second-fewest passing yards per game in the NFL (178.5) and Wilson is coming off just 158 passing yards against Cleveland.

Meanwhile, Barkley is in for his hardest matchup of the year. The Steelers are allowing the fourth-fewest rushing yards per game in the NFL (91.5) and have only given up 100+ rushing yards to one running back this season.
