The Los Angeles Kings continue their road trip on Sunday with a matchup against the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
Both the Kings and Rangers suffered unexpected losses on Saturday with Los Angeles blowing a 2-0 lead against the Islanders and the Blueshirts getting shut out for the first time this season by the Capitals.
NHL odds favor the Rangers to bounce back on Sunday night, but will they? Read on for our Kings vs. Rangers NHL picks and predictions for Sunday, December 10.

Kings vs Rangers predictions
The New York Rangers have been off to a great start this season despite losing their past two games. A lot of that has to do with new head coach Peter Laviolette getting the most out of his players.
Former first overall pick Alexis Lafreniere has been more aggressive this season, and it's paying off. After averaging 1.44 shots on goal per game through his first three seasons, Lafreniere has 62 shots in 25 games this season (2.48 per game).
Lafreniere did take a bit to see his shot totals go up. He only had 12 shots in his first nine games. Since then, however, he's racked up 50 shots in his last 16 games.
He's been especially impressive over his last 13 games with 44 shots on goal — over three per contest. Lafreniere went Over 2.5 shots on goal in 10 of those games, including three shots in Washington last night.
The Los Angeles Kings are at the end of a long road trip and the fatigue is setting in. They faded in the third period on Long Island while allowing 30 shots in the game. While the Rangers are also on a back-to-back, it's only their second game since Tuesday night's loss.
The oddsmakers are still giving us a pretty good price on Lafreniere Over 2.5 shots on goal (+130). Those odds imply a probability of 43.48%, while the youngster has hit that mark in 12 of 25 games this season, including 10 of his last 13.
My best bet: Alexis Lafreniere Over 2.5 shots on goal (+130 via DraftKings)

Kings vs Rangers same-game parlay
We’re starting off our same-game parlay with our best bet of Lafreniere to go Over 2.5 shots on goal. He’s been aggressive recently, and that’s also resulted in some points for the youngster.
When Lafreniere is shooting the puck, good things happen. In the 12 games that Lafreniere has tallied at least three shots on goal, he recorded a point in seven of them. That includes points in five of six games with at least four shots on goal.
Lafreniere also plays on a strong line with Artemi Panarin and Vincent Trocheck. Although he doesn't yet crack the top power-play unit, he still sees some ice time on the second unit.
Finally, we’re adding a contrarian leg of Under 6.5 to close out the parlay.
The Kings are the best team in the league in terms of expected goals against per 60 minutes at 2.17. While the Rangers' 2.81 xGA/60 ranks in the bottom half, they've made up for it with stellar goaltending between the pipes.
Both teams also trend to the Under this season. The Under is 13-10 in Kings games and 12-11-1 in Rangers games.
Back Lafreniere’s fresh legs in a slow-paced game.

Kings vs Rangers moneyline and Over/Under analysis
The Rangers’ odds opened at -125 and are still around there at most books. The Kings’ odds also haven't moved much from their +105 opening.
Despite a Rangers-themed best bet and same-game parlay, I’d take the Kings on the moneyline. It’s rare that you’re going to find them as an underdog this season.
The total opened at 6.5 and is down to six at most books. You can get Over 6 (-118) and Under 6 (-104). Alternatively, there is still an Over 6.5 (+100) and Under 6.5 (-122) available.
