Oilers vs Jets Odds, Picks, and Predictions Tonight: Winnipeg Keeps Edmonton At Bay

Both the Oilers and Jets are coming off weekends to forget and will look to turn the tide against one another. But with Winnipeg back home, our NHL picks are siding with the Jets to skate away with two key points.

Both the Edmonton Oilers and Winnipeg Jets have enjoyed long winning streaks this season, but entering tonight’s match, neither team is in great form. Edmonton is currently a -125 favorite according to NHL odds.

With the Oilers looking dreadful in Ontario over the weekend and Winnipeg getting a reset at home following a five-game road trip, is betting on the underdog tonight the side to be on with oddsmakers possibly overvaluing the Oilers?

Find out in my free NHL picks for the Oilers vs. Jets on Tuesday, March 26.

Oilers vs Jets odds

Oilers vs Jets predictions

The Edmonton Oilers were down 5-0 to the Leafs on Saturday in Toronto after two periods and followed that up by surrendering a 3-1 lead in Ottawa the next night in a 5-3 loss. The Winnipeg Jets are also riding a three-game skid, but returning home is a good thing for Winnipeg.

The Jets are 23-9-2 at home this year which is the fifth-best home mark in the leagues. They’re winning by more than a goal per game on home ice and their 2.26 GAA is the best in hockey. This seems like Edmonton is being overvalued for a team that looked bad over the weekend, is getting poor goaltending (again), and is struggling on special teams.

Stuart Skinner has surrendered 12 goals over his last three starts while the penalty kill gave up four goals over the weekend. This is a team that doesn't play mistake-free hockey and defensively has looked awful of late. On the road, Edmonton is 19-16 SU with a goal differential of just +3.

Winnipeg may be 0-3 SU in its last three but it played decently vs. Washington in a 3-0 loss while allowing just 19 shots on net. The offense is struggling but the Oilers have been very generous of late.

A fresh start on home ice where the Jets have been dominant is the perfect spot to back them as a plus-money dog. It was only four games ago this team played its best game of the year in a 4-2 win vs. the Rangers. I also expect Connor Hellebuyck to get back on track quicker than Skinner who has been a very streaky goalie and comes in tonight in poor form.

I’m trusting the Jets today at +105. If this game were in Edmonton, would you be backing the Oilers at -145/-150? Because I sure wouldn’t. These teams are a lot closer in power rankings in my opinion and in the standings.

The Jets have moved from -105 to +105, but I can’t see this going any further, especially without any injuries on either side.

My best bet: Winnipeg Jets moneyline (+105 at SIA)

Oilers vs Jets same-game parlay

Jets ML

Over 5.5

Nothing wild here with a side and total. I never like diluting my plus-money plays with multiple-leg parlays.

The Under is taking some money but the Over 5.5 looks great with each team's goaltending struggle and the Oilers' PK issues. Keeping Edmonton to fewer than two goals is tough and a 4-2 Winnipeg win is my most likely score outcome.

The Jets have lost every game without head coach Rick Bowness behind the bench (medical), but a return home is a good spot to reset and takes away an edge that opposing teams had vs. the Jets without their HC — and getting last change at home is massive vs. McDavid & Co.

Oilers vs Jets moneyline and Over/Under analysis

  • The Jets opened as -105 dogs on the ML but have gotten longer to +105 as of 9 a.m. ET this morning.
  • The total has taken some Under money after opening at 6.0, -130 to the Over and moving to -110 aside.
  • Looking at the goaltending, Stuart Skinner is coming off a game vs. Toronto where he was pulled after giving up five goals. He is 6-4 SU with league-average numbers over the last month. Connor Helleybuck is 5-6 SU over his last 30 days with a GAA north of 3.00.
  • This is an easy game to price in injuries as only Winnipeg’s Gabe Vilardi is out and he has bee for all of March.

Oilers vs Jets betting trend to know
