Jets vs Bruins Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

The Bruins are outmatched, even on home ice, against the Jets. We're getting fantastic plus-money odds for Winnipeg to win by multiple goals and are jumping on it.

The Boston Bruins host the Winnipeg Jets this evening at TD Garden, and the NHL odds list Winnipeg as a -132 favorite.

Winnipeg is in tremendous form, winning eight of its past 11 games. Six of those eight wins have come by at least a two-goal margin, and my Jets vs. Bruins predictions expect this trend to continue in Boston.

Read on for my NHL picks for Thursday, January 30 at 7 p.m. ET.

My Jets analysis
The main reason I believe the Winnipeg Jets are poised to win their fifth straight game is goaltender Connor Hellebuyck.

Not only is Hellebuyck the runaway favorite to win in the Vezina Trophy odds for the second straight year, but he is also looking to become the first netminder to win the Hart Trophy since Carey Price in 2015.

Through 40 starts, Hellebuyck is 31-7-2 with a .927 SV% and 2.00 GAA. He’s allowed two or fewer goals in seven of his past eight starts, boasting a 7-1 record with a .932 SV% and 1.63 GAA over that stretch.

Meanwhile, Boston Bruins netminder Jeremy Swayman has struggled since signing his contract extension, posting a 16-17-4 record with a .895 SV% through 37 starts this year.

Boston has dropped eight of Swayman’s past 11 starts, with six coming by at least a two-goal margin.

While the clear goaltending advantage goes to the Jets, they are also the superior team offensively, ranking first in goals scored per game while the Bruins are 26th.

Jets vs Bruins odds analysis

Winnipeg opened as a -132 favorite and remains at that price on Wednesday afternoon. I believe the market will inflate this line further.

The total opened at 5.5 and hasn’t moved. The juice is on the Under, but considering this number won’t drop to five, I don’t think this line will greatly shift before the puck drops.
