Today’s NHL Props and Best Bets for 10-28: Thompson, Peterka & Colton

A Tage Thompson and JJ Peterka stack makes too much sense, yet a generous price is on offer for each of them to land a point tonight. That and more in Josh Inglis' daily NHL prop picks.

It's another new week in the NHL and that means more stacks of linemates to score points. With all the line juggling that happens in the league, it's hard for books to stay on top of all the scoring opportunities players are getting, or not getting, moving up and down the lineups.

These are my best NHL player props for Monday, October 28.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Tage Thompson + JJ Peterka Over 0.5 points each

+188 at DraftKings

I like goals in the Buffalo Sabres vs. Florida Panthers game, and the Sabres have been getting a lot of offensive support from their top line of Tage Thompson, JJ Peterka, and Alex Tuch. Peterka and Thompson are a great stack for a point each at +188 as they both play on the top power play while Tuch does not.

Tage has a point in six straight games with 10 total points, while the duo have each pointed in four of the last five games since Peterka returned from injury.

Florida has been inconsistent this season, allowing three or more goals in nine of their 10 games. They are also 7-3 to the Over. Two-way scoring is very probable today and that total of 6 should creep up closer to 6.5 near puck-drop.

Stacking linemates has been very profitable this year and +188 for the Peterka/Thompson stack is a great price tonight.

Prop bet #2: Pavel Dorofeyev + Tomas Hertl Over 0.5 points

+240 at DraftKings

This has become one of my favorite line stacks as Pavel Dorofeyev’s point price at +110 is still unadjusted. He is playing on the Vegas Golden Knights second line with Tomas Hertl as well as the top power-play unit that is 4-for-8 over its last three games.

In those three games, this duo has pointed together in two while Dorofeyev is coming off a three-point game on Saturday where Hertl chipped in two assists. Combined, the pair have 12 points over the last three games.

The Calgary Flames are winning but still rank 21st in GAA and have a sub-80% PK. They’ve given up 12 goals over the last three games and face the No. 9 scoring offense in the Knights at 3.35 goals per game. Stack away.

Prop bet #3: Ross Colton Over 0.5 points + Over 2.5 SOG

+142 at DraftKings

Ross Colton’s prices have adjusted a bit, but are not perfect yet. I’m going to parlay his Over 2.5 SOG and Over 0.5 points for +142 at DraftKings.

He is still playing on the top line with Nathan MacKinnon, which might be the best spot in hockey. Even if the Colorado Avalanche juggle the lines, he'll be playing with Mikko Rantanen and Casey Mittelstadt while also chipping in on an elite top power-play unit.

Over his last eight games, he has gone Over his 2.5 SOG total in each match and had six shots and a goal last night in a tougher matchup. The Chicago Blackhawks are a bottom-six team in PK (76%), shots allowed (32.4), and goals against (3.52).

This is also the No. 1 home offense in hockey over the last two seasons, and an Alex Georgiev start could see plenty of scoring on both sides.
