OK before I continue I will tell you I am discounting everythign about the Hokies while Glennon is playing. I am also only keying on Tyrod, turnovers forced and big time receivers playing against them

So I take nothing from the ECU game offensively as Tech was planning on red-shirting Taylor. They did force 2 turnovers and didnt allow a receiver over 75 yards. Comparing Georgia Tech to Cincy is also a joke. Teams couldnt be more different. Taylor got his first start and committed zero turnovers while leading his team back for a victory. They didnt do much offensively in this one, but a win over GT is impressive nonetheless, especially when you hold that offense to 17 points. They also forced 3 GT turnovers. They then travelled to Chapel Hill and got another impressive victory. Albeit this one was lucky. Taylor led them back from being down 17-3 and they emerged victorious 20-17. Taylor did have 2 interceptions, but the defense was able to force 4 turnovers and most importantly, neither of UNC's heralded receivers gained over 75 yards in the air. The Hokies then travelled to Nebraska for a night game. They committed zero turnovers in Lincoln at night while forcing 2. They once again didnt allow a receiver over 75 yards. They then travelled to Chestnut Hill for their 3rd difficult road game in a row(I dont count the Western Kentucky game). They committed 1 turnover and forced 5. While they were unable to capitalize on these turnovers the offense has grown up a lot since then. Robinson for BC actually hooked up for a 50 yard pass in this one and that is of definite concern but they didnt manage to give up a 100 yard receiver. Dont even get me started on the FSU game. Taylor went out on the first play with an ankle injury. That game was over then. The homejob that ensued made it even worse. Carr was the first 100 yard receiver that Tech allowed but I discount that b/c the only reason he caught a single pass was he was allowed to pushoff and hes 7 feet tall. None of those catches Gilyard makes. They didnt force any turnovers for the first time in this one. Well none that werent called back phantomly Then came Maryland and I was there. They allowed a big hitter to Heyward-Bey on a screen pass and that is of course a huge concern of mine. Other than that they gave up nothign. They committed a turnover but that was on special teams and they forced a hueg turnover at a critical point. They then travelled to Miami the following Thursday. They didnt commit a turnover and I contend if Taylor plays the entire game they win. He was huge in this game and having Glennon play was a dagger. Miami did nothing in the air and the only turnover was from Miami in this one. Then came the hiccup on Taylor's resume. He committed 4 turnovers on 4 drives to start the game. I'll admit, if he performs anywhere near this VT loses by 50. This isnt the norm though and therefore I'll give him 1 pass. VT overcame 5 first half turnovers with their great defense and won 14-3. They forced 4 of their own in the process and the Duke QB threw for 20 yards. VT then met with UVA with the ACC Championship game on the line. They would have dominated this game if not for Beamer letting Glennon get one series. He threw their lone interception on his only drive and VT came up with a big pick in the endzone to seal the game. UVA threw for 77 yards. Finally the rematch in the ACC Championship game with BC. This was over early. Taylor threw a pick but it was a deflection and not really a bad decision. They forced 4 turnovers but gave up 263 yards in the air in a lot of big chunks. Looked to me like they got complacent with a big lead they arent used to having. Gunnell went for over 100 yards and a touchdown but a lot of those yards were with the game over.
Basically VT doesnt give up yards in the air and Cincy isnt going to run for them on this defense. So I implore you to tell me how Cincy is going to move the ball. Is this the best offense VT has faced? Possibly. I really dont think it is any more potent than North Carolina though. Factor in that Taylor has been playing very well lately and you know Cincy is going to turn the ball over a few times and I just dont see Cincy emerging from this game. Taylor has had a single bad game hanging on to the football, but otherwise has been very careful. Glennon is the QB you want to target with the turnovers. And he wont be playing. So unless Cincy can find ways for Gilyard to dominate the game. Which he can do in multiple facets. Havent even touched on the kick coverage of the Hokies which has been great of late. I just dont see all the Cincy love. I guess thats why they play the game.

Good write-up man. Couple things, I do like Virginia Tech to win this game. Its hard to bet against these hot teams though. Like the N.C. St./Rutgers game. I wanted them to have good matchup's so I could bet both teams. Cincinnati is pretty hot right now. They just keep finding ways to win. I'm thinking Va Tech wins, I agree. I want to mull over a few things before I decide to make a play. You definitely have great points to make it even closer to a play for myself, I don't trust Tyrod personally. Thats the only thing I'm going to look into, hopefully Tech doesn't have to rely on him to win the game. Good luck bro.

By the way you might want to think over that Utah/Alabama play a little. Just my opinion. I like Utah a lot. Think they have a good shot of winning. Might want to look into a few things before you do anything with that game.

This is driving me NUTS.... Why can't it be X-Mas already.... lol I miss college football already. This one a day christmas carol is quite unique. Just had to give my boy Bibs some props.
I'm gonna be at the Emerald Bowl, I'm already hometown bias with Cal. Do you think thats wise of me going against Miami Bib? I don't have the exact line this moment. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I like Cal very much in what amounts to a home game where Cal hasn't lost
Mia has been shreded on the ground and I see Cal running for over 250 with Best leading the way.
Mia is also playing the wrong QB in Marve and then they keep switching, harris and then back to Marve (there have been some rumors that Marve may have academic problems) It would be better if he plays
Tedford is a much better coach than Shannon. Mia has some young talent and could be better next year as both QB are freshman
They are traveling 3,000 miles. I like Cal

I am liking the picks so far..Surprised not see UGA in there, I know there Defense got torched by GT's ground game but I think there is such a difference between the SEC and Big 10. I dont see why the Dawgs cant win like last year. Unless they dont want to show up cause they are dissappointed with the bowl they got cause they layed down like dogs this year at times.
Also regardging the reason why the linesman kind of forced your hand. I see his point with the post getting completely obnoxious with like 500 replies and some people in the nation just being jealous of the attention that you get etc. We all want to win and have fun..
Great insight, I look forward to big bucks this bowl season...

Looks like its Memphis time. Memphis/South Florida is an interesting matchup being played 30 miles away from the South Florida campus. This is a classic matchup between a USF team that is very good at stopping the run and a Memphis team that pounds the ball. Curtis Steele is a monster that has averaged 5.7 ypc this year. The key to this matchup is that while Memphis has a great running game, they can air it out as well. Their QB has thrown for over 300 yards on several occasions this year. Of Memphis 6 losses this year they lost at Ole Miss by 17 but were still able to outgain the Rebels for the game. Then they threw a pick 6 with 11 seconds left in the game against Rice to lose by a touchdown. Both of these teams are better than and would be favored against USF. Hall then threw for 364 yards in a 17-16 loss at Marshall. They chould have easily been 2-1 at this point but didnt catch any breaks. They then reeled off 3 wins before a primetime matchup with Louisville. To be honest, they dominated this game. Louisville's last 3 touchdowns were a kickoff return, returned field goal for a touchdown and a fumble returnMemphis threw for 350 yards again and dominated the game. Then against East Carolina we have a misleading scoreline. Memphis was leading 10-7 at halftime but not only lost their starting QB, they lost their backup as well. They were screwed. Once again in their final loss of the season vs. Central Florida(who is horrible I know) they only gave up 194 yards and 10 first downs. Smells like a fluke loss to me. In all of these losses they had trouble running the ball, while all of their wins they pounded it. Memphis has a positive point differential of 2.3 but it would be higher without the 20 point loss to ECU when they had the lead at halftime. USF is a positive 6. USF appears to be good against the run but have allowed over 100 yards in their last 5 games. I think the Under might be a strong play here. Memphis will run on USF. When comparing similar teams USF lost to Louisville as well. Louisville ran for over 100 yards and passed for over 200. Memphis will move the ball against this D. If not for the home field advantage I would be pounding Memphis even harder. I think this is a close matchup and see some great value in the moneyline. This write-up sucked but I dont care
