James Franklin is not good

Why wouldn’t you go for the win there? A couple passes and you’re in field goal range. Go for the win. Playing for OT was not the play. 

Wrong. You go for the win now. And if no one is open you either throw it out of bounds or you slide in bounds to run out the clock. But you give it a shot. This is 100% on the QB. Not on Franklin. 

I'm matching James Franklin to John Harbaugh. He makes the calls.

You are aware that scouts (not me) say that if he re-classifies for this draft he would go top 3. I guess he's not that awful.

Notre Dame bettor here.

Absolutely wrong decision for Franklin to get aggressive there at the end.  Same exact thing as Kirby Smart 1H vs Notre Dame.  Cost them both the game.  

Allar was terrible all night. Run the ball. As someone said you owned the trenches. Run the ball, maybe a jet sweep or some sort of trick play, misdirection and hope you rip a big run and then you can start chucking.  

This was classic James Franklin.

 Franklin is 2-1 in CFP games.

Obviously, Penn St should have gone for the win.  To suggest they should have played for OT is ridiculous.

This loss is 100% on Allar. Not Franklin. They had a chance to win at the end and the QB made a bad decision.

 Find me one scout that says he goes too 3. He is terrible. See my write up for the game where I called for an Irish victory because he would throw a game changing int!!! He isn’t top 3 round material…..

Today he did what he normally does…loses a big game. Whether it being qbs fault or his, it was bound to happen.

Absolutely moronic to blame Rich Franklin for thst loss, you just have been dropped on your head and I’m not a Rich Franklin fan. The only blame he can get is by thinking Drew Allard is a competent qb at any level. The kid is complete trash. Any qb with half a brain should be trusted with the ball in that situation. If no guy is wide open you run yourself throw it away, very basic. The kid is abysmal. He will suck next season too. Every ounce of that loss is all on him. Notre Dame was outplayed in every facet of the game except for Allard.

I never implied I thought he was top 3 material. I am talking about what I am reading. I agree. Its overblown. He has a strong arm and can run a bit. His football IQ and accuracy is mediocre at best.

He is a project 100%.

But he will go back to Penn St next year, put up decent numbers and the hype machine will pump his draft status out of reality.

So how did he "lose" this game.
