I'm referring to people that believe in a God though. The default position is to believe in nothing. Making a claim that there is a God requires evidence.
he doesn't get that...

If you need "God" to confirm or deny your good and bad behavior than ya have some problems.Christians have slaughtered more humans on earth than anything on the planet. God is murder and mayhem.
Absolutely incorrect. The atheistic regimes of the last century alone disprove this.

Atheism is, I suppose, the supreme example of a simple faith. The man says there is no God; if he really says it in his heart, he is a certain sort of man so designated in Scripture [i. e. a fool, Ps 53:2]. But, anyhow, when he has said it, he has said it; and there seems to be no more to be said. The conversation seems likely to languish. The truth is that the atmosphere of excitement, by which the atheist lived, was an atmosphere of thrilled and shuddering theism, and not of atheism at all; it was an atmosphere of defiance and not of denial. Irreverence is a very servile parasite of reverence; and has starved with its starving lord. After this first fuss about the merely aesthetic effect of blasphemy, the whole thing vanishes into its own void. If there were not God, there would be no atheists.
thats not what atheists say...you don't understand what atheism is...
The letter 'a' in front of theism gives it away.

Yes, I need God, and Jesus to confirm truth. Murder is wrong and that is the truth. How do I know murder is wrong? I know murder is wrong because God created us in his own image, with inate value and worth and a purpose in life. Moses came down with the Law that said, "thou shall not murder". Jesus fulfilled the Law by claiming to be the Truth, living a sinless life, dying on the cross, and then bodily rising from the dead. That is how I know murder is wrong. You, on the other hand, believe we are all just cosmic dust, here by random chance
you need a book to tell you murder is wrong? pathetic...
He is not saying he needs a book to tell him that. You are misunderstanding his point, I believe. Why is thee an inherent knowledge that murder is wrong? Or anything else? Back to the cannibalism thing again---based on feelings alone, etc. Or even pick something else besides murder.

2 thingsHe doesnt condone INVOLUNTARY slavery, genocide, rape. Also, if morality is subjective, then things like rape, murder and slavery are not wrong.
yes he does, read your bible...
This is generally being intentionally deceptive. The quote you obviously Fl refer to is adequately addressed here, and if you are honest in reading it, you will understand it better. https://apologeticspress.org/APContent.aspx?category=12&article=2333

The default position is whoever makes a claim to knowledge has the burden of proof..

Where do you get your morals from? Why are your morals superior to the next guys morals? Without borrowing from the Christian worldview, tell us why stealing, rape, and murder is wrong. Convince me why I shouldn't do these things if that's what I want to do. If there is no God, and we are only here for a short time, then why shouldn't I try to do whatever I want to if I can get away with it?

it has to do with being part of a society and doing what helps that society to thrive and survive. I do not condone murder, rape, slavery, and genocide...that alone makes me more moral than your god...read the bible...

This is exactly right. They claim morality is subjective, then they say there morals are better. They dont even understand what they are saying.
When you say better, you imply a standard. If morality is subjective, then there is no standard as it is each persons opinion. Hence, no right/wrong or better/worse.

I'll make it easy for you, not believing in any gods...due to lack of evidence...
I have no evidence that you exist, and even if you do, I can justifiably deny your existence when you no longer exist. A tombstone in a cemetary? Ashes forever lost at sea? It's an easy game to play. Do it as you see fit.

No. This is too vague an argument. There is way more to it philosophically, logically, an even scientifically. There are many deep thinkers on both sides (not Christians) with great points. This is simply not one of them. If you are interested in reading both sides, in order to discuss it and appreciate the discussion, there are many great articles on it.

Correct. They do an excellent job of discussing the point that you brought up. What source would you use to refute how they explain away your point?

Because it does harm to our fellow (wo)man. Because when we're not stealing, raping, and murdering each other we're able to progress further as a society.
Instead of just attributing the result of everything to a God, people actually try and figure out how the world works and why things happen. Is it any wonder that the most developed and progressive parts of the world are the least religious?
I honestly think you guys want the Western world to become a Christian version of Saudi Arabia.

it has to do with being part of a society and doing what helps that society to thrive and survive. I do not condone murder, rape, slavery, and genocide...that alone makes me more moral than your god...read the bible...
Very weak argument. So, society determines morality? Are all societies equally moral? If a society condones murder, rape, slavery, and genocide, then it is now moral? Again, what is your basis for determining morality? Without God, you have no basis.

Why should I care I care if harm comes to our fellow (wo)man. If we are all here for a short period of time and we are all just space- dust, no more significant than an insect, all here by random chance, then who cares? It would be no more wrong to kill somebody as it would be for a lion to eat his own cub, if there was no God.
And by your logic abortion is wrong.
