Well, if you had a brain you would realize it is two separate situations.
One has to do with how people should be treated, because I think everyone should be treated equally. The other has to do with the intrinsic value of life. Since I think this is our only life, I think everyone should get equal treatment while alive, BUT it is no loss (for me anyway) if someone I don't care about dies.
Well, if you didn't have a dysfunctional brain, you would realize your inconsistencies. It's the same circumstances we are discussing which basically is about people dying and so it is two similar situations.
You view life as meaningless, and so why would you care on how people were treated or punished during the time of Moses or even right now at the present time?
You show compassion for homosexuals suggesting it wasn't ok that they were punished to death during the time of Moses, but somehow you just don't care if billions upon billions of people die from an all out nuclear World War as long as people who you care about didn't die.
If in your view there is no value to life then why the contradiction here? You shouldn't even care about what went on during the time of Moses, because first of all it happened 3,400 years ago and it doesn't effect anyone today and secondly you put no value on life as it is.
In your view everyone's life has no value...it is meaningless. You just don't make any sense.
Perhaps the reason why you care about homosexuals is because you are one of them...is that the reason?
It could be the sole reason as to why you had to abandon your Christian faith several years ago. You know you couldn't be a practicing Christian while at the same time be a practicing homosexual...right?
You would rather display your physical love to other gay men than to display your spiritual love, worship, and obedience to Almighty God the Creator of all existence and so you chose to disobey God when He says homosexuality is a detestable sin.
Your poor mom and dad who are both Christians have got to be very disappointed with you.

Hey kk, you didn't answer my question the other day. So let me ask again.
Given this scenario, how would you feel if the world has another World War and engages in an all out nuclear war that pretty much comes close to annihilating everyone.. I would assume if you regard life as meaningless you wouldn't be terribly upset then...right?.... if you were one of the handful of survivors?
Would you then just say oh hell with it and just blow yourself away too?

I prove that Hell is not eternal punishment and homosexuality not to be "sinful" for everyone among other things from the Bible in my? book, "The Good News: How Revealing Delusions In Christianity Will Bring Peace To All." (www.thegoodnewsbook.com)
The true message of the Bible is that we should only judge people on how they treat others or as Jesus videos stated, "Love your neighbor as yourself." Check out my YouTube as I discuss this and more on radio shows across the nation!

1. I'm not gay
2. I never once said I cared about people thousands of years ago. Lying is a good christian trait...
A statement is not contradictory if both parts can be true at the same time.
Part 1: Life is meaningless.
Part 2: I think everyone WHILE ALIVE should receive equal treatment.
These statements in no way contradict each other...
Point out the inconsistency or contradiction please... Don't worry, I'll wait...

SJD just keeps making unsubstantiated claims and accusations. Ahh the way of the christian!!
Actually, I use HUNDREDS of Bible Verses along with logic and reason to back up everything I discuss. Do your due diligence and go the website (www.thegoodnewsbook.com) or the blog before you want to judge my book or myself. I am no typical "Christian" and I am only attempting to show the true, positive message of what Jesus had to say by revealing the false, man-made doctrines in Christianity.

I would rather there not be a nuclear winter. I enjoy my life and a lot of the things I enjoy come from other people (sports, movies, music, etc.). If there was a nuclear winter, many if not all of the things I enjoy would not exist. This would make my one and only life less enjoyable and that would not be good for me.
So to answer your question: I would be terribly upset if there was another world war, but I probably still wouldn't kill myself.

1. I'm not gay
Reply: There is evidence on this thread that you could possibly be gay.
2. I never once said I cared about people thousands of years ago. Lying is a good christian
Reply: The statement you made on pg. 143 #3564: QUOTE Originally Posted by Mikniks: "It says to kill people. How is that ok?"
Is clearly an indication that you cared about people thousands of years ago. During the time of Moses there were punishments for disobedience and homosexuality was a sin punishable by death.
These punishments were only carried out in the Old Testament which were thousands of years ago and it doesn't apply today in our present time.
So when you posed the question above you were suggesting those killings were not ok during the time of Moses.
3. A statement is not contradictory if both parts can be true an the same time. Part 1: Life is meaningless. Part 2: I thing everyoine WHILE ALIVE should receive equal treatment. These statements in no way contradict each other.
Reply: Those are not the statements in question. Here are the statements made by you that are contradictory.
Part 1: "It says to kill people. How is that ok?"
Part 2: "If nobody I cared about died, then it wouldn't bother me one bit. I'd just be annoyed about all the radiation."
In the first statement it signifies a person that is compassionate and caring and doesn't understand why in The Old Testament homosexuality (as well as other sinful acts) were punishable by death and it was not okay and unjustified in your view.
Then in the second statement it signifies a person that just doesn't care about billions upon billions of people getting killed during an all out nuclear World War as long as people that is cared about didn't die.
There is no consistency here. If you cared about just a handful of homosexuals that you didn't know personally then clearly you would overwhelmingly care about billions upon billions of people dying in an unjustified crazy nuclear holocaust of a war.
You would be outraged that such a horrific act could have possibly occurred and done so much damage to humanity.
So there are your contradictory statements...I rest my case!

But in your world view, there is no obligation for me to care about anyone or anything except myself. (right)
If i can get away with it, then why not. No one catches me here, no afterlife accountability, who cares about the people that i rob, life is utterly meaningless, the earth will die a cosmic death, you have not convinced me at all why i shouldnt rob a bank if i can get away with it. Dont talk about the ompact of other people, who cares, life is utterly meaningless.
Furthemore, if on any given day, i rob a bank, rape a 12 year old girl, kill a gay man i am absolutely no different to volunteers who help disabled people, help the elderly, help chariities etc.
If you tell me that i am wrong, then it is no different to you telling me chocolate is better than vanilla. Just one persons opinion over another, your not right, your not wrong.....Just a matter of opinion. Who are you to tell me what is right or wrong, you are no one in an athestic world. You are just random luck of molecules put together by luck who has no worth.
First of all, I wanna address this to EVERYONE as I feel it is extremely important: If the only reason you don't perform acts generally deemed bad or evil by society is because of a fear of god and eternal damnation, then you are a despicable and extremely selfish human being who doesn't give a shit about anyone and if your christian god did exist, he would punish you eternally for that.
But as for the specific examples of rape and robbing a bank, no matter how many people tell you that you're wrong, you can still believe you're right. We would all ask you why you think it's ok. I'm not sure what you would say, but assuming you had what you considered a legitimate reason, you would be justified in thinking that. Since we live in a society, we would still be justified in putting you in jail for those acts because your acts are wrong relative to society.
If I have not convinced you as to why you shouldn't rob the bank just because you can get away with it, then that's fine. It is not my fault that you are a very evil person at heart and only choose not to act on those evil desires because of god. That is a very poor quality to have. If you still think that the betterment of humanity and society is not enough reason to not rob a bank (or the golden rule is not enough reason), then I cannot convince you otherwise. But like I said, that doesn't mean you won't face repercussions from society for your transgressions.

LMAOOOOO. SJD just posted 2 statements with the definition of contradiction and said they were inconsistent. How can we take him seriously after that? Is there NO SCENARIO POSSIBLE WHERE THOSE 2 STATEMENTS CAN BOTH BE TRUE.
No. They can both be true. Therefore, they are not contradictions. END OF DISCUSSION. Don't talk about what you think the statements mean. We are focusing on the statements themselves.
1. If he says he's not gay then he's not gay. There is no reason not to believe him as the relevance of this point is quite low.
2. "Is clearly an indication that you cared about people thousands of years ago." How? The bible says it's ok to kill people and then people today kill people and he sees that as a problem. How is that clearly an indication that he cares at all about people thousands of years ago. It seems as if it is clearly an indication that he cares about people now.
3. Discussed above.
It seems as if my ability to understand Rostos' ability to understand my points has improved with the implementation of the new rules. Since SJD has demonstrated through clear and convincing evidence that he had absolutely no idea what Mikniks was saying here, from now on the rules must apply to SJD as well. I can only speak for myself, but from this point forward, the same Rostos rules apply to you as well SJD.
To save you the trouble of going to find them, here they are again.
SJD, you must preface every post responding to me (and preferably everyone) with a brief summary of the point being made, Example: KK said that xyz. You may then proceed and make your points in response to that. This is the only we we can know if you truly understand what we are saying.
Isn't it interesting how the atheist never twists around the theist's words, but the theist has done this countless times in these 174 pages?

Since SJD clearly doesn't understand the definition of contradiction, even with an example, I'll give him a bible example.
Commandment: Thou shalt not kill
Bible Quote: "If a man lies with a male as with a women, both of them shall be put to death for their abominable deed; they have forfeited their lives." (Leviticus 20:13 NAB)
This is an example of what is known as a contradiction. It is completely IMPOSSIBLE that these 2 statements can both be true. There is no scenario conceivable where these 2 statements can both be true. And that my friends, is a contradiction.

You said in another thread, that each human being should be selfish and only care about him or herself as life is ultimately meaningless, now you are having another go at me because i am acting selfishly?
But as for the specific examples of rape and robbing a bank, no matter how many people tell you that you're wrong, you can still believe you're right. We would all ask you why you think it's ok. I'm not sure what you would say, but assuming you had what you considered a legitimate reason, you would be justified in thinking that. Since we live in a society, we would still be justified in putting you in jail for those acts because your acts are wrong relative to society.
If i put the atheist goggles on for a minute, you are basically asking me why you chocolate ice cream is better than vanilla ice cream Or why i think Derron Williams is a better baller than Chris Paul. Thats all what it is with atheism, relativism. Who are you on anyone to tell me what is right or wrong, we are just lucky made up specs of dust put together by a full court shot, is your randmonmess more authoratative than mine? No, so you have no right to say what is or wrong, if i want to bash gays and rape 12 yr olds who are you to say i am wrong?
If I have not convinced you as to why you shouldn't rob the bank just because you can get away with it, then that's fine. It is not my fault that you are a very evil person at heart and only choose not to act on those evil desires because of god. That is a very poor quality to have. If you still think that the betterment of humanity and society is not enough reason to not rob a bank (or the golden rule is not enough reason), then I cannot convince you otherwise. But like I said, that doesn't mean you won't face repercussions from society for your transgressions.
You have been sitting on your high horse saying that morals are relative, yet when acting out real life examples, you are acting in a contradictory way. Thats all what it is with you, why are upset if i like to bash gays and rape 12 yr olds and get away with it? The world is ultimately meaningless, Miknicks told me to enjoy what i do and ultimately there is no one to answer to.
You cant have both ways KK

Nice, another instance of contradiction you have detected.
