Why does God allow earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, tsunamis, typhoons, cyclones, mudslides, and other natural disasters?
She doesn't. Tornadoes, tsunamis, etc. are all natural, and the physics, and reason for them are well understood. And none of these occurrences asked to be allowed to happen. They happened due to well known cause, and effect relationships which can all be measured, and verified.

Furthermore, these people are for the most part RESPECTED and HONOURED in various ceremonies , so there is a level of pride associated with such a thing.
I am not devaluing the job the army does, but simply stating the facts.
Many people outside of the army and war war also put there body on the lives for others, mainly family due to a mutual love they have for each other.
But also strangers, remember strangers who do not even know each other, however, in this particular case , it is the support of a fellow human being.
What makes Jesus' even more remarkable, how many people would give up there life being tortured and nailed to a cross as a sacrifice for people who spat on him, laughed at him, mocked him and swore against him?
Getting back to the example of the gambling debt, there is no way on earth ANYONE would take up the offer of the bookmaker, would you take up the offer if i swore at you, spat on you, laughed at you and mocked you in front of hundreds of people, would you still give up your life to pay off my debt?

Jesus didnt get greeted, honoured and recognized like people in the army do, Jesus didnt recieve benefits like people in the army do. In fact it was in complete contrast.
