Is betting 6k like over the threshold of having to report your activity to the IRS? Or was it a total of your roulette bets that put you over the limits?
I'm not very familiar with how they handle the table game paperwork. All I know, is next time, I intend on going to the cashier window with one thousand dollar chip, and not with multiple ones at a time.

So, if someone tips a dollar, they're A OK, but if someone tips 45 cents, almost everyone will get all up in arms over it? Give me a break.
Promark was absolutely right to lecture her in public.
I've worked for tips. Getting stiffed is a fact of life. Getting small tips is a fact of life. And for every small one, she'll get a generous one. You live with it, and move on.
You have to be a major idiot to scoff at 45 cents. From what I've seen, the standard tip for a cocktail is a dollar. So she got 45 percent of the standard. It was a half-tip. Half is infinitely better than nothing.
These people skip out on taxes too. It's a cushy job, and no one should feel sorry for any of them.

But I emphasised that that wasn't my normal tip by saying "only" in my first post and I was labled a tightwad.
I'll tell you what, I've seen many shit-hole bathrooms along the strip and many very clean ones. If there's a porter keeping it clean, I'll tip him too. I've noticed they used to have a tray for tips on the counter but they don't any more. Too bad.
Bad bathrooms:
Planet Hollywoood-For some reason, all their bathrooms are small and the dudes piss on the toilet seat all the time.
Cosmopolitan-Same thing as PH
Good bathrooms:
Venetian, Pallazo, Wynn, Bellagio, Aria, suprising a real good bathroom is the one in the Forum Casino at Cesars Palace. You have to take the escalator down but you leave the noisy casino and get a quiet, peaceful place where you can do your thing.

If you can't afford to tip at least 15% then you should not be taking ANY drinks. Most girls have to "tip out" with the kitchen or bar and you ended up costing her money basically

Tipping has gotten ridiculous.. I was cashing out recently at a poker room..Every cashier had a tip jar ! What ?
Just sitting there begging ?
Promark.. You meant well, but it was an insult to her.. Next time don't order a drink if you don't have enough to tip at least a buck..But she was out of line to make the wisecrack.
I would have calmly told the manager the story, let him decide if he wants you has a customer, or her as a waitress.

Let me get my two cent tip on this thread.

Don, it feels a little strange communicting with you in a different forum.
Your answer is probably the best one of the bunch. Yes, I just shouldn't have ordered the drink. Like I said before, and slot players are really guilty of this, when gambling, we lose our train of thought. I can't recall at which time I realized that I only had 45 cents (when I ordered the drink or when she arrived).
I did think of going to her manager, but when she appologized, that was good enough for me. She learned her lesson, and later I realized I didn't handle the situation professionally either.
At the Flamingo sports book, they got ticket writers with tip jars. Actually, it doesn't bother me that much. BTW, if you are in the Flamingo Sports Book, playing the races or sports, you get free drinks NO MATTER HOW BIG OR LITTLE YOU BET. No drink tickets, the waitress comes around and takes orders from everybody. The reason the sports writers' tip jars don't bother me is because if I'm tipping the waitress, why not the writers too? Remember, I appreciate a writer who moves the line along efficently without a lot of small talk as kick-off time is approaching.
If it's day time and there's no sporting events getting ready to start, I've seen Flamingo writers telling somebody who was going to make a futures bet on their team to win the Super Bowl to step aside and take a race bet of a horse race that was getting ready to start. That's real service!

Oh indeed you did the right thing after she apologized. It was over.
I have a problem with tip jars. The management thinks that people are making too much money then they cut back their salary. It winds up in management's pockets.
The old way was better, you could slip someone a little extra if their service was good. Now if you don't tip, even if you get bad service, everyone thinks you're a tightwad.
Personally, I don't care.. If I get terrible service. I might not tip at all

I normally tip a dollar for a drink, but I only had 45 cents in my pocket.
You would think any person with an ounce of common decency would check to see if they had an appropriate tip on them before ordering a drink. And then to chase this girl down - your lucky someone witnessing that didn't slap you silly. And then to start a thread because her actions upset you so much - wow - just wow. I don't want to make assumptions but you were upset because you lost once again and took it out on her.
I wish you better luck in the future.

We have enough clowns trying to work the system here to get something for nothing. I got news for you buddy, this is a tipping town; Did they forget to mention that on the TV show you watched that glamorized this town to compel you to move here?
It's people like you that ruin a good thing for the rest of us!
Here's a tip if you MUST live here, Always keep a dollar in your pocket. If you don't have a dollar for a drink...then don't order anything!

Now, Had I cheaped it I would have made well over 8k But I had a great time, My wife and kid had a great time, we were treated like royalty, Especially the hotel cleaning staff, I think we were the only room to tip them 5 bucks per day.
How the hell do you 'think' you were the only room to tip the 5 bucks per day? Did you interview every member of the cleaning staff or everyone staying in the hotel?

Sorry, I should have said The way the room was cleaned day in and day out, We must have been the only people tipping 5 dollars a day. Never have I seen a room so meticulously cleaned. It had to be because of the tip, I refuse to believe the cleaning staff would take that much pride in there work.

This is a tipping town? WHO THE HELL CARES? A TIP IS EARNED, NOT A RIGHT. AND FROM THE WAY YOU "SERVICE" PEOPLE HAVE ACTED, I WOULDN'T TIP MOST OF YOU.
PS, I HAVE FOUND THROUGH EXPERIENCE THAT SOME WHO WORK FOR TIPS ARE SOME OF THE TIGHTEST PEOPLE ON EARTH. YES, THEY HAVE THEIR HANDS OUT, BUT WHEN IT'S THEIR TURN TO TIP, THEY REVERT TO TIGHTWADS.

This statement is flat out FALSE .. a lie!
Servers and bartenders, or dealers playing poker on their off day, are some of the biggest tippers there are because they understand their plight
You actually just said people who work for tips are tightwad tippers??????? Maybe you and your tightwad friends pro....... but not in the real world.

that was the point I was trying to make to him, He chased her down and Yes she apologised (Not because she did him wrong) She apologised to shut him up before a supervisor saw her and fired her as waitresses are a dime a dozen.
He was wrong, he kinda admitted it, Lets move on.

She was making fun of the tip I gave to her!" I immediately cashed out and ran her down. In front of other customers, I reamed her for making fun of my tip, which was 45 cents, not the 20 cents she claimed. She was embarrassed and she appologized for the indescression which was the right thing for her to do. The appology calmed me down and I went on my way, knowing that she had learned her lesson. If you make a living off tips in Vegas, keep in mind some gamblers are down on their luck and may tip you little or nothing at all. That doesn't mean they are tightwads. But there are some people who don't tip at all. That's just the nature of the game.
Example 2: I was at the Aria Casino and went up to a bartender and asked him to switch the TV to a football game I had bet on. Now keep in mind, they had 3 TV screens showing ESPN and other sports shows that nobody was watching. I had even went into the sportsbook and asked the manager what sattellite channel the game was on so I could provide that info to to the bartender. After doing so, the bartender told me to go watch the game in the sportsbook. I was truly flabbergasted! I could have taken the matter to a higher level, but by this time I was so displeased by the customer service in virturally all MGM resorts. I no longer do business there, as their training program is shoddy. Furthermore, when you go to the cashier in MGM resorts, they have no line markers, so it's every customer for themselves. I've had many customers cut in front of me, usually I say something, but I get tired of having to do so.
Good Customer Service Story: I was playing slots at the Wynn, which is probably the highest-class place in town. I ordered a beer. When the waitress brought it to me I realized I didn't have any money in my pocked, all my money (and it wasn't much) was in the slot machine. I appoligized to the waitress for not being able to tip her. She said with a smile on her face, "Don't worry about that. Now get lucky and get some of your money back!" And she said it so sincerely! See, she was trained to appreciate tips but realize that people are gamling and might not be able to tip at all. And I was playing a penny slot in a high-class joint, it didn't matter, she still treated me like I was a high roller. I really like the treatment you get at the Wynn. I also received good treatment from other employees there.
Any other stories? Good or bad?
