Got tickets for the May 2nd Waters show in Dallas.
JMW, I'm jealous and also inspired to make it a point to catch Roger Waters sometime somewhere this year. I'll make it happen for sure.
May 2nd is coming right up for you bubba!
Most everyone knows his Floyd background and the corresponding genius with that work, but his solo stuff was also pretty great. Quickly coming to mind is the underrated "Radio Kaos"
If anyone who likes R.Waters hasn't picked that one up yet or heard it, should put it on their list.

Dennis...........spend the $$ for a great seat in Denver. Flights are cheap to Denver right now & there will be a big contingent of PF fans there meeting before the show. After all, you only have 3 choices for Waters this year: Denver, Dallas, or Houston...........unless you want to go to Europe.
BTW......."Amused to Death" might be Rogers' best solo work. Definitely worth checking out.

if so, the production quality before 2:00 sounds better than after and they sound like two completely different songs. the effect on one of my pedals, for the sounds after 2:00 is called British Fuzz, probably would have sounded a lot better if it was grittier/bassier (less van halen, more smashing pumpkins) whats the deal there?
same thing happens at 2:07 of Transcend, and about a minute into Nekron...etc
If it is you, its ok but I think you could really benefit from some band members. They might encourage you to switch tempos/keys etc more often...the pieces seem to begin with relatively the same template, clean picked guitar to that distorted strumming.

platypus seems like you know your rock music, can you tell me how this band is? its my little cousin's band, and frankly I don't know what to say about it except the song called "the rise". I like the background music behind it, because it sounds very familiar.

Ima go out on a limb and say your cousin smokes a pretty good amount of weed if he's in a band producing this kind of music - reminds me of the doors, sonic youth, and pink floyd...closest contemporary mainstream band I've heard like that is probably some of the lesser known/older Modest Mouse songs.
"to whom this may concern" - a near carbon copy of the rhythm guitar in "another brick in the wall." i liked the lead guitar though
"the rise" - the singer has pitch problems throughout but the song gets really good at 5:20, little more listener/radio friendly. A little more fine tuning and that could be really good.
"let your memory race" - my favourite song, even though I didnt like the vocals in it. It showed a good grasp of melody and originality.
not to sound like a dick, but I hope your cousin isnt the lead singer...they could really benefit from one with more range. that could also be a result of not recording in a studio so I dont wanna be too harsh. is this a two man show? how old are they?

lol my cousin is the lead singer and guitarist. I think there's 2 or 3 of them can't remember, and they're all 20. I also thought it sounded too much like pink floyd, but thanks for the critique (I'll tell my cousin to record at a better record studio).

as long as he can play guitar and write songs, he has a place in the band...recording is expensive. a successful strategy is posting even shitty quality samples on youtube and playing as many live shows as possible. exposure = money, money = recording, recording = more exposure....more $

well except in nekron 99 - I need to get a better distortion sound on most of the songs, which needs to be heavy bass but at the same time we need to hear more strings than just the low E.
If i had some money id buy some good software, but its freeware for now!

I guess its not bad for free software but I really hate that fuzzy guitar sound - personal preference, nothing against you. It reminds me of the preset distortion button my first 10 watt amp came with that I couldnt adjust. I wanted to play grittier stuff like Bush, Offspring etc (dont judge, I was 11) but couldnt get it of that Clash/Sex Pistols sound. I think you also need to break that template that seems to constrict all of your songs. - clean to distorted guitar of a slight variation of the cleaner, earlier stuff.
And back to the topic:
Catchiest song ever? By Against Me!
not a big fan, but its on my ipod

If you're into this type of music, www.di.fm is a good place to go. Covers pretty much every category (and there are a lot in that kind of music nowadays for whatever reason) in that genre. And beatport.com is like the itunes of electronica (minus the shitty quality file you get with itunes) if you want to buy stuff.
