Iso teams start pressing when they get down and it usually doesnt go well. This was obvious at the end of the half. I expect toronto to keep turning it over in the second half

It ended up being a great night but it could have been epic if Washington didn't have a meltdown and if Teague could have played his usual 30 minutes. I ended up cashing a Large, Medium and Smedium play while losing on two smalls and a smedium. I did make a half small play on the OKC ML once it was announced that Bogut and Iggy were out.
The Toronto game went as expected. Complete domination on both sides of the ball.
Yesterday, it was Derozan is back, the Raps bench is better and Lowry is better than Teague. It looks like today will be the Bulls are streak killers and a better team. I just can't understand why people keep doubting this Hawks team as they systematically crush every team they face. ESPN has picked up Monday's game vs Detroit and I would suggest watching it if you still doubt this team.
Hawks vs Bulls
-This looks to be another win for the Hawks. The Bulls are 2-4 in their last 6 and needed exceptional offensive performances to beat mediocre teams in the 2 wins. In this span, the Bulls have lost to the Wizards by 16 and 6, Utah by 20, and Orlando by 7. They have beaten the Bucks by 8, in a game where Pau scored 46, and Boston by 16, in a game where Chi shot 52% from 3. After three quarters, Chicago was only by 2 on Boston. A team that Atlanta made quick work of while resting Horford and Korver.
-Butler and Gibson each played 39 minutes last night and all of their starters played 30+ minutes. Millsap led the Hawks with 33 minutes played last night and he was the only player to play more than 30 minutes. The Hawks are well rested and ready to give max effort once again.
Keys for the game
-Chicago is no longer an elite defensive team. Butler is their shining star on defense and his abilities are minimized by ATL's style of play. The Hawks have no wing iso player for him to defend 1 on 1. Instead, he gets to chase Korver around screens all day. Korver had success in the 1st matchup and was 4/8 from 3.
-Teague/Schroder will outplay Rose/Brooks. Teague/Schroder have been dominating opposing PGs and they shut down Rose/Brooks in the first matchup. Rose/Brooks combined for 22 points on 27 shots.
-The Bulls have been going small a lot more lately and playing Rose/Hinrich/Butler at the same time. Korver has to be drooling at the thought of this.
No fluff plays today, strictly business
ATL -2 -120 XLARGE

Chicago was 7/9 from 3 in the 4th quarter vs Boston. They could have easily lost the game if they don't catch fire from deep. ATL should abuse them tonight.

With my wager amounts, each level is double the previous. So a medium bet is double the amount of a small. An XL is double a large.
I decided to add another bet for tonight.
-This will be Chicago's 3rd game in 4 nights and they had to travel to Boston and back. Butler has played 77 minutes in the first two while Rose has logged 69 and Taj has logged 71. They now face a Hawks offense who forces teams into constant maximum effort. The non-stop movement of the Hawks offense wears teams down. Chicago's main players will be relied on for 35-40 minutes again tonight and I believe they will have tired legs in the second half. Tired legs lead to poor shooting.
-Losing Dunleavy for Hinrich in the starting lineup is a big blow to Chicago's spacing and offense.
-Teague and Schroder have been great defensively and this Chicago offense is very mediocre when Rose isn't going off.
-ATL was able to hold Toronto to a season low first half total of 38 and now lead the league in opponents points per game. They are playing the best defense in the entire league. They held Chicago to 86 in the first meeting and I expect a similar score tonight.
Chicago Team Total Under 99 MEDIUM
For those who like player props, Horford should put up 20+ tonight. Gasol doesn't want to chase Horford around on the perimeter and his shot has been money lately. Gasol cannot hang with Horford on that end.
This will be the most money I have had on a game all season.

crazy string of poor luck with mack getting injured and bud sitting Schroder. but the bet pays the same. Teague missed a bunch of FT's and some open 3's woulda kept this from getting the nerves up. Anyhow thanks for the picks as always

I think I made a pretty good prediction of what would take place in the Chiacgo game. I am a little upset at the Chi TT Under play not hitting. Schroder and Antic ended up not playing and they do a great job on the defensive end. Even with those two out, the Bulls only had 39 points at the half. I missed the second half and was shocked to see them score 60 to give me a push on the bet. Rose was very inefficient and Horford once again got the best of Gasol and put up 22 as predicted. Rose, Butler, Gasol, Gibson all played 37+ minutes. Thibs just continues to run his players in to the ground. I don't think Chicago is going to be a real threat come playoff time.

-The first non-Smith game was a tale of two halves. ATL was up by 19 at the half and Detroit ended up losing by only 3. The Hawks made 8 3s in the first half while only making 2 in the second. The Pistons made 3 3's in the first half and 10 in the 2nd half. Over their last 13 games, the Pistons are averaging 11.2 3's per game at 38.5%. The Pistons would attempt 43 3's on that night, which is way above their average. This has become a common occurrence for teams playing a Hawks defense that locks down the paint. I saw an interesting stat yesterday that shows just how good the interior defense of Atlanta is.
"Teams shoot from farther away from the basket against the Hawks than
any other team, an average of 13.7 feet (per basketball-reference.com).
That's nearly a foot farther away than the league average (12.8)."
-In the first matchup, Drummond looked absolutely terrible. He ended up having a -13 +/- in only 17 minutes of play. Some people were saying that he was getting over the flu, but I'm not so sure as he seemed back to his usual self the next night vs Brooklyn. Drummond and Monroe present a huge size problem for Atlanta, but they are terrible pick and roll defenders. They are slow footed and they aren't the smartest defenders. There is no stopping Atlanta's PnR for Detroit.
Keys for tonight's game
-This will be the first and only nationally televised game for the Hawks this season. They have had one game on NBATV but that's nowhere close to being on ESPN. I don't even have NBATV on my cable package. I initially was going to lay off of this game, but the added ESPN coverage has reeled me in. The Hawks should be very motivated to give a good performance in their only national coverage for the year. Over the years, the Hawks have had a tendency of underperforming in nationally televised games. I believe they will look to stop that trend today.
-The Hawks are more rested than the Pistons. This will be each teams 7th game in 11 days. Each Hawks starter has rested one game and Schorder + Antic rested vs Chicago.
-Kill them with the PnR and PnP. Drummond and Mornroe cannot and will not hang with Millsap and Horford on the perimeter. They won't have much success stopping the lightning quick combo of Teague and Schroder either. The Hawks will rely on the PnR all night.
The spread is a little too high for my tastes. I will probably end up buying a few points and parlaying them with another team or two. I'm going to wait for the other lines to be released and then will be back with my play.

One idea would be to let Flamingo make the picks in his thread.
This is my thread and this is a public forum. The whole purpose of this forum is discussion and sharing ideas and opinions.
I welcome all conversation whether it agrees or disagrees with me, except the waste of space that you just contributed. Stay at home with that mod-wannabe crap.
