Kudos to them for being blindly loyal and supportive, but it doesn't make them any less clouded and self-righteous. If they feel they got screwed here, get in line. How do you think Bruins fans felt about Cooke, or Jones on Bergeron, or Walker on Ward. The ruling is the ruling. Live with it.

And for God's sake let your police do their job instead of fielding your whining phone calls about some athlete. 

You are right yet wrong in some of your comments so to keep it brief....

The problem many fans have is because of the history between the two players.

The problem fans have is because Bruins players told reporters that they were targetting Pacioretty.

The problem is the one player that really wanted to get revenge on Pacioretty was Chara.

These are the main reasons why Montreal fans are pissed with the play.

If this was Pacioretty getting hit by Stephane Robidas or whoever the fuck else, there wouldn't be anywhere near as much of an outcry and then Chara's words calling this simply "unfortunate" would ring true.

Watch the part from 0.50-0.54 its slow motion and you can actually see Chara shoving his head with his gloves in the way of the turnbuckle and Pacioretty didnt have any chance or way to get out of it. The puck is long gone at that moment. That is why I call it reckless...
Your argument that ppl walked off from hits like, I dont know what to think of it.. Are you implying that Pacioretty faked it?? Slamed his head on purpose or what??
I am not a Habs fan and I wouldnt know about their fanbase..

And seriously you think Chara needs blueprints of the arena? I don't even need to research this but am confident the Bell Centre is the rink Chara has played the most games in aside from his own since he has become a Bruin.

This is the same fuckin clown that is apparently so clean when a fight was over with Ivanans and both players were on the ground and the refs were in between he got up and threw a sucker punch which broke his fuckin orbital bone....Yup the dude is so clean and classy.

So why did Tony Massarotti of the Boston Globe say Chara's actions were indefinsible? Why has Jimmy Murphy another popular Boston writer said no suspension was the wrong call? Bob Mckenzie, Pierre McGuire..the list goes on...are they all whiny crybaby Habs fans?

Below is a copy of the only thing I had to say about the incident directly. I just read it and I don't get where I was bias or way off so ya I guess I am a moron. I said he knew full well where he was on the ice and who he was hitting and that he wanted to rub him out as in take him out hard which is what he did. I do have friends there and we do play hockey so that is easy killer.

For one, Murphy is terrible. For another, Massarotti is not a hockey guy.  And MacGuire....really? Is anybody less respected and more of  a joke than that guy? 

And you listed Bob McKenzie...obviously well respected. Interesting you list him though, because I read his article, and here's an excerpt:

lol so write off 3 examples because of your personal opinion of them and ya bob still wanted chara suspended...there are still other examples and writers who are non habs fans and have no bias to either teams...the point was too show its more than crybaby habs fans.

the problem or perhaps i should say difference of opinion, lies where people like you and polar, entitled to your opinion, think that a smid on powe hit is more deserving of a suspension due to intent over an incident where there are actual facts that prove dislike between two players involved in an another incident is purely coincidental.

go watch some youtube of chara vs montreal and tell me he is "clean." i can find numerous instances where he has gooned it up late in game when losing. like i said, the guy who broke someones orbital bone on a sucker punch is the same clean and classy guy some are raving about. if that was avery he would get ripped to pieces.

Thanks for the words in my mouth guy but no thanks. Where did I say those hits were more deserving of suspension. I did say dirtier yes because both stopped from 5 feet away and decided to run straight at the guys back while he was bent over against the boards. I already touched on the fact Chara knew full well who it was, problem is none of us can actually PROVE what was in his mind wether you, I or anyone thinks it is a foregone conclusion.

I was simply making the case that those two filthy hits took place and I don't recall a single thread on here or any comments really that I saw at least, of any Philly fans or anyone else bitching about those hits.

Yes Chara had motive due to history we all know that but the flowing "hockey action" (skating side by side up the boards) of the play makes it a bit of a guessing game as to the exact intent in terms of the end result wether it makesw sense he wanted to hurt him bad or not. I do think he is responsible for his actions and a case can certainly be made in definitive proof that he was very careless in a violent manner and that itself could garner 2 or 3 games or whatever and I think that is how they (the nhl) should have approached for their own good IMO.

What is so confusing as you say?

well you said there was much more intent in the powe incident in a prior post...much more intent = worse hit = bigger suspension imo.

and yes i did comment that the smid hit was fuckin dirty as hell. and well notice no habs fan started this thread

obviously you cannot prove anything..nobody is a mind reader but you can make a case and i am pretty sure if i go to court i could beat anyone arguing against me.

you can bring in guys to read body language, the fact that he never even looked back to see what happened is concerning

ex players and if you know any players who have played in higher leagues, they will tell you they all know full well exactly what they are doing on a dirty hit and will never admit it. they never want to paralyze the guy but the want to send a message...which is what i feel chara wanted to do.

we have ex teammates like steve montador saying chara feels like he has to go extra lenghts to show how strong he is. montador also goes on to say that he does feel chara knew what he was doing and anyone that plays that many games at the bell centre 100% knows where they are on the ice...take in all my prior points and the history, bruins wanting revengs comments etc and the case builds up...its a slap in the face that he didnt get a freakin fine because apparently he has a clean record...which is laughable

Look, I'm not going to debate a Habs fan about Chara being clean or not. I watch plenty of him and see him lay off on hits every night, and I've never seen him take advantage of players in vulnerable positions intentionally. Think what you want, we'll agree to disagree. 

Regardless, I agree with Bob McKenzie on the "incident". It was interference. Now because Pacioretty ended up in a vulnerable spot and got hurt, a slap on the wrist 2 game suspension might have been acceptable. He didn't get one, oh well. Not the first time a group of fans has been disappointed with Colin Campbell. And the Bruins themselves are obviously on that list. 

But the degree of outcry due to the RESULT of the play is ridiculous. When Begin intentionally crosschecked Savard 3 years ago and also broke HIS back, was there a call for him to be arrested? There was clear intention to commit a penalty (crosschecking and interference) in both cases and both resulted in broken backs. Yet one has nearly paralyzed a city's police force and monopolized the news in hockey. Gee, I wonder if it's the one where the Hab got hurt.

Pierre McGuire = Habs fan MTL his fave team Mario Lemieux his fave player. Mario is from MTL afterall.

Bob Mckenzie- overeacted.  

Pierre Lebrun....should stick to boxing he knows more about boxing than hockey. Very smart guy though great writer.

Elliotte Friedman does not know hockey but he asks good questions.

the other names and are probably all short Napoleons who have never held any sort of physical power in their puny frames.

Bottom line it was a normal hockey play with a very unfortunate result.

I don't care to retract at all. Most players are guilty of an indiscretion in their career. That was a cheapshot, no question. But he's simply not a dirty player IMO. 

For example, Pacioretty boarded Eaton from the Islanders and that could have easily resulted in a serious injury. Does that make him dirty? I'd say no, but hell, he's layed a dirty hit before! 

And the major point here...dirty or not, guilty of trying to injure or not, this is a Habs-fan created fiasco. Seemingly every hit on a Hab is dirty, every injury the result of maliciousness, etc. The whining is endless. The team is known for players who dive and flop all over the ice, they refuse to stand up and fight yet they'll chirp all game, and the fans just whine and moan every time one of them gets touched. You simply can't expect any opposing teams set of fans to care anymore. 

Too bad for Max and it's an unfortunate result, but it's over. If you think you've got a gripe with the league, get in line.

Wiggins lets turn to something more important .... How well do you think your goalie will do when the games count? I have pegged that guy as a choke artist when the pressure mounts. Remember, it was Halak who saved the day with two miraculous rounds last spring. What do you think the lover of underage girls will do this spring as the starting goalie of your disgusting team. I think he will be fine.

I was all alone on an island on this forum last year when I said he would be a great goalie. I even posted that he would have better numbers than Halak. I continued to say Halak would be the one traded although his exploits in the playoffs maed me question it a bit..but guess what...wiggins was right yet again.

Let him bang all the underage chicks his wants, smoke 5 ciggies at a time, crack rocks wtvr..I don't care...all I ask is for it to not affect him on the ice.

And cmon now mr. big stuff...after the habs traded their hometown hero, price was getting boo'ed by the usual idiots in this city, and everyone expected him to fail..then he had a terrible start in the pre-season...you don't think there was any pressure on him then?

I mean he certainly could have a poor playoffs but he  is the only reason the habs are where they are this season...no fluke certain members of media talking abuot him for the hart trophy. and hey..it wouldnt be the first time a 23 year old has failed in the playoffs

Look I don't have to argue with you about whether Chara is a dirty player. I don't believe he is. Bob McKenzie doesn't either. Neither does Stu Hackel. If you think he is, fine, your opinion. 

But you again haven't responded to my key point...if this isn't exaggeration of the highest order, tell me where the equivalent furor was when Begin broke Savard's back with a crosscheck that was 100% intentional. The sole reason Chara defenders are upset today isn't necessarily because they claim the hit was 100% clean, it wasn't, but the RESULT of the hit has led to a backlash inconsistent with other instances. And why? 

As for divers and pussies, yeah Lapierre was one. So was Ribeiro. And either Kostitsyn sister. And Plekanic. And Kovalev.  The list isn't short.

Colin Campbell even knows and called out Marc Savrd for being a diver, as is David krejci...what do some of those players have to do with the Habs now? Most of them are not on the team anymore...And maybe I can give you Plekanec earlier in his career but not anymore..most of what you say about the habs is recycled bs spewed by an habs hater anyways...interesting how you avoid certain points i make but not surprising.

And sure suspend Begin...I didn't defend him. The NHL needs to set a precedant. Kubina gets 3 games for a play that wasn't even penalized and Chara ets 5 minutes for interference which I don't believe has ever happened. The NHL's policy seems to be one big mind fuck and to confuse everyone as to what is legal and not..

You are at fault for lumping my with your pre-conceived notion of what you suspect Hab fans to be...I live in this city, I know we overreact..trust me I lived it nevermore than with the countless Halak vs Price debates last year...I know many are fickle and like bruins fans are simply bandwagon fans...remember how a few years ago montreal used to take over td garden, then the bruins did well and everyone started to reappear claiming they bleed black and gold or yellow wtvr

and I have said why there was a backlash...your narrow mind can only come up with well he was a habs fan..and again..i advise you to read my posts and you can find out why the majority of logical habs fans are upset...
