bottom line is that at one point individuals need to be held accountable for their actions. people can look at this as one unfortunate incident but there is no need for that hit. so even if he didnt mean to hurt him, give him a game because it was a reckless hit.
you are talking about the savard on begin hit..give begin a penalty because it was from behind. you need to make players pay for hits that are not necessary. and until that happens regardless of intent, these things will happen.
look at the pacioretty hit..you want to know why it wasnt suspended? because a player who gets hit is now putting himself in a vulnerable position..that is the excuse! brian burke wants the league to implement a bear hug rule where players can wrap their arms around players in that situation to put them into the boards..this would certainly lessen to blow of some of these hits.
you can't compare the two. same goes to say "what if chara and patches were 10 feet from the boards and patches just lost his balance and stumbled into the turnbuckle". obviously not his fault but if you push or guide someone into an immoveable object then thats a different case.

It feels really weird to me to agree with Gary Bettman and the league.. But honestly you got it right 9wings.. Montreal launching a police investigation what a bunch of fu'in pussies.. They just can't handle losing something.. As for Air Canada I hope they pull out so some other MASSIVE company can come in and take over..
