Reuters reveal more damning testimonies in House congressional investigation of political interference in US pandemic response.  Trump administration repeatedly blocks critical warnings and guidance from Center for disease control.  This undermined one of the top public health organizations in the world. In a election year, Trump wanted to downplay severity of the pandemic.  Doctor Birx accuses doctor Atlas of cutting access to testing because Trump was afraid of increasing casualities.  But misinformation can increase virus spread and sabotage public health efforts in mitigation.  As a result, US has the most covid cases and deaths of any country in the world.

We are entering the winter season here which has favored in virus spreading and infection. Europe's recent Covid-19 cases are spiking past the old record that has occurred a year ago. And it might be a harbinger for U.S. to come, getting more people fully vaccinated plus booster shot appear more critical than few months before.

Why does Massachusetts have 3,000 new cases  for 11.17.21 and Florida has 1,500? 

Massachusetts just reported their highest single-day number of Covid cases since February.

 Massachusetts probably reports their cases honestly whereas Florida's reporting has been questionable from the start of the pandemic.

Since beginning of pandemic, Massachusetts has lower total case rate than Florida.  According to wikipedia, Massachusetts has the 40th highest case rate per capita while Florida has 14th worst rate.  Earlier, Miami Herald condemns governor DeSantis for allowing Florida to become a covid epicenter in the world.  8th worst covid death rate out of 50 states.  If US has Florida covid death rate, an additional 171,000 Americans wouldn't be alive on Thanksgiving day.

First Known COVID Case
Was Vendor at Wuhan Market,
Scientist Claims

The new analysis suggests that the first known patient sickened with the
coronavirus was a vendor in a large Wuhan animal market.

The report, published Thursday in the prestigious journal Science, will revive
the debate over whether the pandemic started with a spillover from wildlife
sold at the market, a leak from a Wuhan virology lab.

The scientist, Michael Worobey, a leading expert in tracing the evolution of
viruses at the University of Arizona, came upon timeline discrepancies by
combing through what had already been made public in medical journals,
as well as video interviews in a Chinese news outlet with people believed
to have the first two documented infections.

Worobey argues that the vendor’s ties to the Huanan Seafood Wholesale Market,
as well as a new analysis of the earliest hospitalized patients’ connections to the
market, strongly suggest that the pandemic began there.
