Democrats agreed to Republican demands to scrap the requirement for service members to get a Covid-19 vaccination. The bill directs Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to rescind his August 2021 memorandum imposing the mandate. Only days earlier he voiced support for keeping the mandate in effect.

Let's drill down; Current US COVID death rate according to World O Meters is 271 deaths per day, steadly dropping since August. News reports from July and August show 58-59% of COVID deaths are the vaccinated.
That leaves 111 deaths per day of the unvaccinated and if they do vaccinate still a chance they can die
2353 people die each day from Heart Disease.
1670 die each day from cancer.
466 die each day from unintentional actions (accidents)
355 die day from Alzheimers
175 die each day from fentanyl
125 die each day from suicide

The military made the conscious decision to scrap the covid vaccine. I do not recall seeing in the news any other "vaccine" that they recalled from their list. The FDA regularly recalls drugs that they had previously deemed to be "safe". No different that any other drug that, as time has gone by and more and more data is known and analyzed, decisions can be made differently from what was originally thought.
I was just posting updated information..... we all know how certain former "facts" surrounding covid & vaccinations are now no longer considered "facts". There is plenty of factual information for people now to make their own informed decisions without any government mandate or other BS. If people want to keep their head in the sand on this then that is their right. Those are the same sheep driving around in their cars alone with two masks on and have gotten 8 booster shots. Their decision, not my problem.
Why does it have to be a partisan issue ?? Well, because the two sides wanted it that way from the beginning. I mean, look right here on this site. Unvaccinated troops are considered non-deployable in some countries. Mistake to politicize vaccination and not protect troops to get republican support for defense bill in congress. Trump was booed in Alabama by his "followers" when he touted the vaccine. Why, because IMO the vaccine was by then weaponized to punished anyone who didn't blindly follow.
Imagine if Trump had been reelected? Who would not be taking the vaccine? How would the media treat the vaccine? Imagine if Trump said you must wear a mask. The roles would be reversed.

Japan had a strict tourist policy basically banning travel to Japan during the pandemic. It was pointed out prior to the Olympics they were only 1% vaccinated yet cases remained very low. By July of 2021 they were only 18% vaxed. Then by Oct of 2021 they were 78% fully vaxed and dropped their travel restrictions. As a result tourism increased by a million people in November. By February of 2022 COVID cases rose sharply, higher than ever before despite being a masking society and 80% fully vaxed. Today they are worse off than ever as a surge in August pushed the daily new cases to above 200,000 a day. Another winter surge is taking place and right now at 175,000 a day and rising. Death rates peaked near 300 a day in August and are now headed there again.
