Fox news Carlson falsely claims winter kills more people than hot weather in trying to downplay threat of global warming. Worldwide, heat waves kill more people than either floods, hurricanes, tornados, blizzards or extreme cold according to National weather service. Far more people have the ability to heat their environment when it's cold than to cool their environment when it's hot. Center for disease control says heat deaths are under counted because they are often counted as stroke or heart attack. Problem is expected to worsen in future years as climate change increase risk of extreme weather.
Based on my research, this is a lie, a falsehood, disinformation.
Carlson was CORRECT based upon a study published The Lancet Planetary Health, July 2021.
That study concluded from 2000-2019 a total of 5.08 million people have died from extreme temperatures. Of that, 4.6 million died from extreme cold.
So here is some more you need to discredit on wikipedia, better get busy!

Climate feedback scientists found Lomborg's claim that climate change save lives is unsupported by evidence. First, United nations IPCC report that it is unclear warmer winters reduce deaths. Lomborg's claim that cold kills more people is misleading because evidences show rising temperatures increase heat mortality with little change to cold mortality in many countries.
Secondly, even if cold deaths outnumber heat deaths, that doesn't mean warmer winters reduce deaths. For example, european countries with warmer climates have higher cold mortality. Cold temperature isn't the main cause of death in winter because of improved living conditions. More plausible causes include influenza, cancer and cardiovascular disease. However heat deaths are more dependent on temperature. Humans tolerate cold better than heat.
Third, Lomborg has no training in climate science and health science. So he often misinterprets the research of real scientists. He ignores reasons for how climate change kill such as via drought, food insecurity, floods, diseases, storms, stress, wildfires and air quality.

"The prolonged droughts that we're seeing [present] some increased risk that inflation remains higher for a longer time," said Charlie Dougherty, a Wells Fargo economist who recently co-authored a status report on the economic state of American agriculture. The high heat and drought have only compounded the issues facing American farmers, including supply chain ripple effects from Russia's war against Ukraine that have caused inputs such as fertilizer to surge in price; nationwide worker shortages; and inflation and high energy prices, the economists noted.
"When you've put all that together, farmers and ranchers have experienced extraordinary cost pressures," Dougherty said. "And those higher costs are being passed on to consumers."

Weather is short term but climate involves decades. NASA reports that since the 1980s, there has been stronger hurricanes. More intense rainfall and flooding. For example, almost one-third of Pakistan has recently become underwater. Not all countries are equally impacted by climate change which affects some countries more than others.

@UNIMAN SEPTEMBER 2022; Are you happy now? Have you seen Puerto Rico? Do you see what is headed for Florida early next week? Never underestimate Mother Nature!
Should tell those people in FL to stop driving gas cars and buy over priced electric cars. That'll stop all the damn hurricanes. University of Miami can change their name once everyone stops driving those damn gas powered cars.

Tampa hasn't seen a storm like Ian in over a century. Most residents have never experienced anything like this & better heed the warnings. We went trough Andrew in 92 & it's scary as hell especially when the storm hits at night. Boat owners don't secure their boats properly & end up finding them on their front lawns.
Those who don't leave end up putting the lives of first responders on the line when they expect to get rescued immediately after the storm. You don't screw around with Mother Nature.

Hurricanes have been here since the dawn of time. There is a reason so many Spanish Galleons lay at the bottom of the ocean. According to Weather Underground out of the top 31 deadliest stores, two were in the 2000's. And there far more people per square mile now than ever before. https://www.wunderground.com/hurricane/articles/deadliest-atlantic-hurricanes
Will warmer water cause an increase in evaporation, yep. Do storms forming over warmer water have a greater chance of getting big, yep.
Will wind turbines and electric cars make the oceans cooler? Nope.
Will going green and buying that green equipment from China who then continue to build coal fired power plants help? No, just the opposite.
Are the folks who own huge homes and fly around in their private jets and then lecture us on our carbon footprint what we need? Nope, just the opposite.
Is shutting down domestic pipelines and then transporting our energy from overseas the right thing to do? Nope, ridiculously stupid.
The problem is we want to get away from fossil energy but we can't, not yet. So we play a shell game and make it look like we are accomplishing something when we're not. Europe just got caught in that shell game now that Russia was the pea under a shell. So stupid even Trump saw it.

The dummies are those who believe members of the national security team talk to Axios about their conversations with a president.
Kind of the same stupidity that believed there were actually bounties on our troops in Afghanistan, believed Hunter's laptop was dropped off by Russians. The list goes on........

Misleading for Fox news to deny link between hurricanes and global warming. First, early records are incomplete because scientists didn't really begin monitoring the entire globe until the 1970s. Historically hard to measure trends in hurricanes because of natural variability. Secondly, scientific consensus is that global warming is making storms more intense. For example, hurricane Ian went through rapid intensification when it went over warmer waters. Overall seasonal activity (frequency, intensity, duration) of hurricanes has increased across the world according to Purdue university study. Also evidences continue to grow. Third, investing in the preparation for and prevention from extreme weather is less costly than recovery according to United nations IPCC.

The frequency statement is FALSE.
Jeff Masters, meteorologist for Yale Climate Connections, said it is true that the number of U.S. mainland landfalling Atlantic hurricanes has not changed appreciably in the past 100 years.
Fox News stated the number of hurricanes today is no different than in the past and Global Warming is NOT currently increasing the frequency of hurricanes AS SO MANY FALSELY STATE.
Those who falsely made those statements quickly band together to deny the truth and attack those who speak it.

From 1940 to 1959, 20 years, there were 90 recorded hurricanes making landfall on U.S. soil.
From 2000 to present, 23 years, there have been 82 hurricanes making landfall on the U.S.
YET THERE ARE THOSE WHO SAY THE FREQUENCY IS INCREASING!!!! And people believe the misinformation and then declare anything else as misinformation. Just takes a couple of minutes to look it up. Naw, I'll just listen to NBC and CNN.
That goodness there is FoxNews to tell it straight.
And yes, I believe warmer water creates more intensity. And of course, having building codes and building in suitable areas is great prevention.

100% correct, Thirdperson, as usual!
The FREQUENCY of hurricanes has indeed increased ACROSS THE WORLD as you stated ---> just like the Purdue University study concluded.
Mind you, the thousands of illiterate climate deniers around the world might take delight in using selective data with the strawman fallacy to falsely suggest that because the number of hurricanes hitting MONTANA, IDAHO and WYOMING has *NOT* increased, therefore that proves that Purdue University study - concluding that hurricanes ACROSS THE WORLD have increased in frequency - must be obvious MISINFORMATION and we should all switch to watching a cable news anchor who openly admits he LIES to his primetime TV audience!
