Yahoo/YouGov poll reveals most Americans believe Trump falsified records to hide hush money payments.  On CNN, lawyer Conway thinks an Trump acquittal is unlikely because the facts aren't really being disputed in trial.   If jury finds Trump guilty, poll majority would approve a prison sentence.

The criminal trial of the LOWEST ranked ex-President in US history has now gone into jury deliberations.  It could take an hour or a full day (or two)

 

The consensus on panels on MSNBC and CNN, as well as various social media, is that the jury will not issue a full conviction on all charges.   Not even a chance of that, despite the evidence of trump's guilt.   They simply will not.

However, they *might* issue a mixed verdict - ie, guilty as charged on some but not others.  It must be unanimous on each and every charge.

We believe trump loyalists have lied their ass during jury selection just to get on the jury so they could save trump.  Personally I have no reason to believe any differently now that the court sessions are over.  But I leave open the possibility that even the lying trump loyalists on the jury may be compelled to break their scheme and vote with the majority on SOME charges.

Which will still mean he is convicted!  Legal pundits have opined that even if trump is convicted on only one charge and all the others acquitted, that conviction could be devastating.

The jury has been released for the day. 

Deliberations resume Thursday morning and trump must return to court and wait every hour or days that the jury deliberates.  Some deliberations take several WEEKS! an_speechless

As the jury deliberates, it has to decide whether it will convict or acquit the POS on each of the 34 different counts he is facing.

an_light This means there are multiple possible outcomes.

CNN anchor and legal expert Laura Coates breaks it down:

Mixed verdict: Guilty on some, acquittal on others

Guilty on all counts

Acquittal on all counts

Hung jury: on all charges,  or just some charges

Directed verdict: The judge can say he doesn’t think the jury’s decision is appropriate and decides on a different outcome.

 

an_lightConsensus has not changed.....most pundits/social media believe the jury is most likely going to let trump off the hook despite the damning evidence. I believe this as well.  I expect he will escape the reckoning he so richly has earned through his criminal activity.  As a result, votes in November will NOT be affected, and if he wins, he will make all other criminal cases against him disappear.

Their unanimous conclusions were that it would be very, VERY different if it was Joe Biden the convicted felon while trump was in the WH.
