Yes. I also said if I see another interesting topic to discuss on here I would keep that in mind. I simply haven’t yet. Nothing worthwhile that doesn’t seem to devolve into name-calling right away. Or jumping from subject to subject. Or wanting someone to answer their own question before they answer the one they were asked. Or mostly just a contest to see who can come up with the most ridiculous Trump-bashing names possible.
I am always willing to discuss politics — especially with folks that disagree — but just not much discussion on here is all.
Maybe you can start a thread with an interesting theme that we could stay on topic with. Something we know the Liberals and the Right disagree about but at least could be civil about. Many to choose from. Just arguing over whether Trump is good or bad doesn’t stay on topic enough to me.

Take the title of this thread for example. It is a legitimate question to discuss. But look where this thread has gone from the start.
I do see some point, for example, in this quote from when this question was so out in front in the media:
“I'm not a Trump voter nor am I a paticular fan. However the daily onslaught of "Trump-sucks" articles, mostly op-eds, are growing long in the tooth. Unlike Bush (43) or Obama, Trump had a 30 year profile to look over. There's been hundreds of puff pieces written about him and his passion for golf, love of football, philanthropic giving, past marriages, children and grandchildren. Why folks act like "gee, who is he and what's he about" is odd to me as it always ends up trashing the man - which is fine if that's your opinion but don't act like you don't know who he is. IMO, he's a pragmatist that isn't right or left. He wants to get "things" done. He's caustic, direct, decision oriented and I believe is a genuine "America First" guy, which fits considering his age. In the end, he's our President until he's not and I think we ought to look at policies and not all the other "fluff" like this article. It's funny to me that writers act as if we "knew" Pres Obama because of his books and yet it wasn't until years later we learn, from him, that much of it (places, people) were "composites" of multiple events or individuals. Moreover we "knew" him so well that it wasn't until a couple of weeks ago that we learn he was friendly with Rev. Louis Farakhan and had even stood arm in arm with him for a photo taken inside capital hill at a Congressional Black Caucus meeting - course the CBC and NOI suppressed the meeting and photo for over ten years but sure. . . .we "knew" him so well.”

You're kind got us into this mess. Blindly following a person off a cliff is not wise. See you in November.

I've got a couple of threads open now. Be my guest and open one of your own. We might be able to learn something from each other.

When your entire career has been built on how viciously you insult and troll and malign people, the “we need to come together” message doesn’t really connect with America unless it’s accompanied with an “I’m sorry I farked up” message.
Just like his supporters, this POS will never admit he was wrong or accept any responsibility. He's already told us that.

Classic example of President Trump.Trump speaking at the beginning of this press conference with prepared remarks: "No American is alone as long as we're united." A few minutes later, Trump, speaking without prepared remarks: “Romney’s in isolation? Geeeeee - that’s too bad.”
He forgot he wasn't at one of his hate rallies.

Trump complains, “It’s very hard for rich people to run for office.” And its costing him “billions of dollars” to serve as president. He repeats this point multiple time. He’s turning a pandemic into a pity party.
First of all, he's never had a billion dollars by most reports (Forbes, Business Insider, Reuters).
Secondly, release your taxes and the show the country all of your business losses.
I kept on waiting for the Oscars music to come on and someone coming out to escort him off the stage tonight.

Mocking Mitt Romney who is infected with the Covid-19, kicking him when he is sick that shows the petty character of person. It's lowly.

General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co. said they are “exploring” making ventilators amid fears the life-saving devices might become scarce in the U.S. in the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I can confirm that GM is exploring the possibility of supporting ventilator production,” a GM GM, -2.97%spokesperson told MarketWatch.
Ford Motor Co. F, -7.39% said that while it didn’t have production plans for ventilators, it was “exploring the feasibility of providing that type of assistance.”
Good for them!

Yeah. Not like he was wishing he was sick. It is a toungue-in-cheek remark and most people with common sense realize that.
Romney is just bitter and jealous and seemed out to get at Trump — so somewhat, understandable for Trump to be a smart-aleck about the guy being out of the news for a bit.
He didn’t wish ill on the guy. Being sick — or even dead (like McCain) doesn’t absolve folks from a non-diplomatic businessman taking a shot at them apparently.

Trump says “I don’t know” when asked whether his family company will seek government assistance.
Yeah. It is a trick question. If he says ‘yes’ imagine what folks like you would say. If he says ‘no’ then the folks that all work for his companies have to question what happened if they are out of work. If the government passes something to help businesses and their employees — why should his companies and employees be exempt?

That's a big farking difference from "they are making them" to "they are exploring" making them.
Sure there is. They are in no way set up to do it. But good grief, give them credit for exploring it if needed. Just like Musk and others. Time to come together. I’m sure Trump didn’t mean that Ford and GM will have them on sale next week. AND I am sure most people didn’t think that when he said whatever he said.
Aside — why do you keep using ‘farking’? I think you can actually use curse words on here now? Seems like I have seen folks use them with this new format. Just awkward to me that you can’t find/think of another word to use instead of a madeup expletive? Never understand why folks do this? Just curious is all. ??

First of all, he lied again. Why can't you grasp that? They are NOT being manufactured. I have been giving every company that comes to my attention credit for them either working on a solution or helping their employees.
What I won't do is give credence to the lies this POS continues to spew to the country.
The word "farking" comes from my Dad when he didn't want to curse in front of his kids and wife. You may find it awkward but I choose to use it.
Do you farking understand now?
BTW...if you don't believe Trump will get his piece of the pie from this bailout, then I overestimated your intelligence.

A traditional president is not supposed to be conducting any personal business or side hustle while in office...did you know that? This is why

This paranoid POS is accusing the media of not wanting the country reopened because they don't want him to be reelected. He's right they don't want him reelected but the media is rooting for our country.
He makes everything about him and not the country. He's going to lose the election because of his lies and lousy performance. Our national debt is out of control.

Trump says he personally signed off on the money for the Kennedy Center as a compromise. He says Democrats asked for the money, and "I didn't have a big problem with it." It was in the Republican draft bill too.
This is one of the many things that piss me off about Trump. He makes it sound like he threw a bone to the Democrats when in reality it was a bi-partisan request.
