Ohhhh, only because of the vaccine is Omicron mild. Guess those unvaccinated with mild cases just got lucky.
Your logic is faulty.
I'm vaccinated. Vaccine really works for original COVID and I'm sure it boosts immunities for those who need it. Omicron is getting around it without much problem. The vaccine will no longer "get us out of this pandemic", Omicron will spread easily.
Those with natural immunities that target several different aspects of the virus will have the upper hand now.

This is an argument for the vaccine. As long as the cases are mild then the vaccine is working exactly as intended.
excellent point baish
imunology scientists and virologists still cant confirm yet how the omicron will impact society

Baish2012 is right. So far, vaccines and public health precautions are working against all covid variants in reducing severe illness. Since booster shots increase immunity against omicron virus, new vaccine may be unnecessary. Public health experts consider worldwide vaccination the only way out of pandemic. Natural immunity is too unreliable to assume that it would lead to herd immunity. The most likely outcome would be recurrent epidemic with more deaths and hospitalizations. So doctors still recommend vaccines for the previously infected.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat, declared in a new interview that the COVID-19 emergency is "over" and that he won’t be implementing another statewide mask mandate in response to the spread of the omicron variant, explaining that if people aren’t vaccinated at this point it’s their "own darn fault" if they get sick.
"Those who get sick, it's almost entirely their own darn fault," he continued. "I don't want to say that nobody [will get the virus if they’re] vaccinated, but it's very rare. Just to put it in perspective, of the about 1,400 people hospitalized, less than 200 (or 16%) are vaccinated. And many of them are older or have other conditions. Eighty-four percent of the people in our hospitals are unvaccinated, and they absolutely had every chance to get vaccinated."
"The emergency is over," he said. "You know, public health [officials] don’t get to tell people what to wear; that's just not their job. Public health [officials] would say to always wear a mask because it decreases flu and decreases [other airborne illnesses]. But that's not something that you require; you don't tell people what to wear. You don't tell people to wear a jacket when they go out in winter and force them to [wear it]. If they get frostbite, it's their own darn fault.
"If you haven't been vaccinated, that's your choice. I respect that. But it's your fault when you're in the hospital with COVID," he added.
There you have it. Time to go about normal life. No more mandates, no more passports, it's a personal choice as said from the democratic gov.

And to be clear, I am not refuting that doctors overwhelmingly recommend vaccines for the previously infected. That much is evident. I am refuting the part about natural immunity as it relates to herd immunity. And while we are at it, let's also talk about how natural immunity and being previously infected aren't mutually exclusive. At this point, most of us, even prior to the vaccines, most of us had/have probably been exposed to the SARS CoV2 virus that caused covid 19. For many of us, your body just simply fought it off. You never got sick. So you never got tested. So there is no real record of what role natural immunity has played. To be clear, I'm pro vaccination. I believe they have worked but to simply throw out things that can be quantitatively measured, is bull. Natural immunity is why we even exist. There's always some potential world beating virus or bacteria lurking. Some have spurred adaptation, evolution. Some have literally become a part of us. Without the bodies natural immunity, we would be taking a million different vaccines. We don't though. There have been only a handful of life changing vaccines in all of recorded history.

Clearly the governor did not declare the pandemic "over"
In fact for much of Europe and many US states, the damn virus is now reloading.

They can't handle it BigGame90, the Colorado gov. spoke the truth except for the stats. Look at the complete denial. WOW!
Am sure democrats are calling him now and saying "shutup!"
Back in August Michigan and Illinois gave out data on how many vaccinated were hospitalized with COVID. It was 28-30%. Since then crickets, suddenly not reporting that anymore!
I am in Nevada right now. Indoor mask mandates here. I could post 1000's of pics of smokers with their masks down indoors. That's allowed. Another 1000 pics of rhinestone masks, nothing more than mesh covered with rhinestones.
NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT SAFETY OR SCIENCE!!! ITS LIKE LIVING AMONGST A CULT!!!!

Most if not all of the guests wore masks when the Nov. 27 wedding ceremony started at a Wisconsin celebration that is now the suspected origin of an outbreak of COVID-19 and the omicron variant among Kaiser Permanente’s Oakland Medical Center staff, according to an attendee.
But as the celebration wore on, the cocktails came out and people took to the dance floor, many leaving their masks behind, said Debra Furr-Holden, an epidemiologist and associate dean of public health at Michigan State University, who was in attendance and believes she contracted the coronavirus there.
Furr-Holden said the revelation that even this group of “risk-averse” and “super responsible people” could have let their guard down enough to become unwitting vectors of COVID-19 shows just how vulnerable even vaccinated people remain to the virus when indoors and in groups.
“We need to shift the narrative and stop calling this a pandemic of the unvaccinated,” Furr-Holden said. “It doesn’t honor the fact that we’re seeing more and more breakthrough cases in the vaccinated.”
That narrative has been a lie from the beginning. Data since July has proven that. Now is their chance to use Omicron as the "excuse" to move the narrative in the face of overwhelming evidence.

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, a Democrat, declared in a new interview that the COVID-19 emergency is “over” and that he won’t be implementing another statewide mask mandate in response to the spread of the Omicron variant, explaining that if people aren’t vaccinated at this point, it’s their “own darn fault” if they get sick.
‘The emergency is over,’ according to Governor Jared Polis, who explained on Colorado Matters on Friday that vaccines have changed the COVID-19 landscape, rendering masks useful but not required in the state’s fight against the pandemic. https://www.cpr.org/2021/12/10/interview-gov-jared-polis-mask-mandates-covid/

‘The emergency is over,’ according to Governor Jared Polis, who explained on Colorado Matters on Friday that vaccines have changed the COVID-19 landscape, rendering masks useful but not required in the state’s fight against the pandemic. https://www.cpr.org/2021/12/10/interview-gov-jared-polis-mask-mandates-covid/

columbia university research isays early indication that " natural immunity" is ineffective vs. omicron
Omicron is spreading faster than any other coronavirus variant
(CNN)The Omicron coronavirus variant is spreading at a rate not seen with previous variants, World Health Organization Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has warned, adding that the tendency to dismiss it as mild is concerning.
