Baltimore at New England (01/10/2010)

The Pats lost Welker,but if any of you have watched the Pats play you know that Julian Edelman is more than capable of filling his shoes.Going with:

Pats -3.5

Over 43.5

NE -3 and Over 43.5 

Brady has a pedestrian 81.5 passer rating in three games against the Ravens, throwing for 687 yards and three TDs with one interception, and his 54.0 completion percentage against them is his lowest versus any opponent.... Guess the Pats will have to rely on running game, handing off to Dillon a lot.  Oh, that's right; Dillon doesn't play for them anymore.  Well, then hand-offs to whoever their running backs are.

This is a tough one to cap and probably becomes a no-play for me, because both teams are equally motivated to win and it's tough to tell by the resumes.  The glaring differences have already been pointed out:  The Patties haven't lost at home this year and the Ravens are 1-5 against playoff teams.  But I think we can all agree that neither of these teams are going to the Super Bowl.

To me, this game comes down to the intangibles and the mental part of the game.

Who makes the least mistakes?
Who creates the key turnovers?
Who does the better coaching?
Who limits penalites?

And most importantly, which team is least likely to beat itself?

To me, the edge in all these categories, goes to the Patties.
I fully expect them to compensate for the loss of Welker and whatever "injuries" everyone assumes Brady has sustained.

Some of the posts have mentioned the Ravens ability to sack and hurt him, but the guy's been sacked less than anyone this season and wasn't sacked at all over a 4 game stretch.

On defense for New England, the return of Wilfork and Warren is a big deal.

Also, you can't overlook the kicking game in this one because the Patties have a huge edge in this category and look at what happened yesterday with Shayne Golden Grahams. 

If I bet this game, I'm taking the Patty money line because 4 points might actually be too many.

But at the end of the day, I just expect those pesky, relentlessly stubborn New England Patriots to find a way to go ahead and win this game.

B'more SU and buying 15 for Colts or whomever they are thesedays +18.5. NE.Pats have had a great run; yet bad injures have cut into that of late.
