I wish the best for everyone out there and a speedy recovery. I live in Texas gulf area, so I can understand rapid devastation, although fire fully consumes to an extent that water does not. Being a former e-response/hazmat person, the described emergency response program needs to be reviewed on several levels, first defining 'what is an emergency?' |

@bellsbendboy off topic: madduxsport gives the lines. Swipes from the betting sites, so updated often. Since they scrape the data, the spreads are occasionally reversed, so check Massey Rating also provides schedule and final scores, as well as a projected score. |

All I am looking for direction/websites on some data. 1) Schedule with opening/current odds: I am looking for a schedule that provides opening / current odds, much like the Vegas Insider report that seems to have disappeared. I have noted similar comments in various threads as well. I am trying to use Madduxsports as a proxy (references the 5Dimes odds, which includes the FCS), but the odds are often inversed. have to clean-up the file. BTW - I cant get 5Dimes access due to location. Wish I could resolve that. 2) Offense/defense data for FCS: Love Statfox and the game match-ups. Really want to get the same data for the FCS. Have asked Statfox if they could provide, but nothing to date.
Last - what a week. Had an uncomfortable number of upsets on the list last week and most covered.

Weeks 1-4, bet more aggressive and trust your handicaps. The betting models are getting tuned, so you can get some value. I will include some 2-3 team parlays and first half bets. defenses are usually better prepared in the early games, so look at the stronger defense, first halves, and unders. Mismatches show up in the first half. Weeks 5-8, less aggressive betting, as the betting models are tightening up. Your model is better, but you have less information than Vegas, so public bets start to reverse. There will be a one week where Vegas issues a major correction, as the dogs are hitting. A couple of teams will become cover darlings in some form - May be first half team, sneaky good run defense, etc. Few parlays, mostly ATS and a few totals. Weeks 9 +: conservative betting, betting models are tuned and injuries / weather are factors. Vegas has the data, as well as sharps. The public is betting on perception. Limit total game, since you cannot get enough current data - no parlays, a few ATS/TT and increasing moneylines. This is the bet 10 unit to win 1 units scenarios. Bowls - back to early games, as the mismatches show up, as well as injuries reverse. |

Saw the same thing. I have NCSU favored by 3 pts. I can see the current trends - GTech shows improvement (even with the recent fiasco), while NCSU is headed downhill.
Personally, have small parlay - ML/round robin on NCSU, UTn, Tx, and LTech. Watching the following games as ML bets: Duke/WF (duke). WF lost a lot with the WR out for the season. Duke is not great, but ok on defense. Expect to be close, maybe not a win. Troy/ULL (troy), Troy matches up well with the ground attach. SMU/Navy (smu), SMU is good team, maybe not good enough, but... Pitt/VTech (Pitt). V Tech is playing well right now, but Pitt can bring some defense and can disrupt.

Want to call-out officiating in general. They have a large impact on the outcome of games. In this game, couple of fumbles, roughing penalties, etc. It may not have changed outcome the game, but it create changes. Maybe should track officiating teams against the spread.

Wow - tuned out with a lead and tuned in to a loss. That would be 3 Kent St scores in 10 minutes or so. Never over 'till its over, but .... is this a case of bad coaching or bad breaks?

Even with LSU's vast improvement this year on that side of the ball, it's like everyone just deliberately forgets what happened last year with the same personnels off a bye, or hell the last 10 at this point.. LSU secretly relies on the run game on that zone read getting yardage on teams, but this is the only team they cannot do that against which is Bama's forever strength to stop first then force you to spread it around.. Bama has problems against QB's that can run, Burrow does it sometimes, but he ain't running on this style of defense. Bama is gonna completely out coach and out class them again in the end, it will be closer than it usually has been.. But absolutely, no question in my mind Alabama wins this game at home and will get theirs on this LSU D before the reciprocate happens. Explains my opinion much better than I. Hard bet against LSU in a big game due to emotion, but Alabama is a tough match-up. I am in on Alabama.

What gives with the officiating. Some are just stupid penalties, some are really 'soft', but they are changing the outcomes.

Saw the 'illegal roughness' penalty. Guess it was well past the whistle, even though I couldn't tell. Critical timing for a tough call. Officials have a lot of say in the outcome.

Small unit 18 team parlay, went 17-1. Thanks Tennessee, assuming Ark St finishes off.

Dont post very often, but the UMASS / Rutgers game caught my eye for UMass to cover, which was not my expectation. I have Rutgers/UMass diff around 10.5, under the 14.5 spread. UMass doesn't have much going its way - new coach, new QB, weak OL, while the defense lost its top defenders/tacklers, with a weak secondary. Rutgers is not great, but it does match up well against UMASS, especially with running and play action pass. Strong running games typically consume time and keep lower scores. I could see a 24-10 type game.
Personally, I am not taking the game.

Seriously imbalanced for KC. At least 7 pt swing. The NFL is in trouble. Cant tackle Qb, refs control outcome. Why even watch. Worse, wy bet unless you know where the refs stand. Would be interesting to see which refs were common in some of the more 'questionable' games. My want to bet the refs, rather than the games.

week 6 parlaying 8 .. putting down $100, what would your 8 team parlay be?
in College Football
Board lurker here. Still learning betting strategies, but I agree with TICOJOE - counter parlays with strait wagers. In addition, I tend to go range between 60-80% ATS, I will add round robin parlays. On an 8 team parlay, I will use a 6 team round robin as coverage. On an 8 team parlay, I will place (1) 8 team parlay bet, (26) 6 team parlays via the round robin and (8) strait bets.
(1) 8 team parlay: $10 give about $1800-2000 (26) 6 team rr parlays: $5 per parlay, $130 gives about $6500 (8) strait wager: $10 per bet, $80 gives about $72. total wager = $220, single 6 team parlay @ $5 give about $250. NET. If I go 6 of 8 on picks, one 6 team parlay covers the cost of the total wager and I gain the 6 strait bets. Sound great, but if you miss three, you lose the majority of value. |

Difficult game to stomach. hate to lose when the one team was sloppy to the point of concern.
