Lions aren't going to shot themselves in the foot like they used too. Ben Johnson isn't chucking the ball down field but rather throwing the short routes which Goff is accurate when he has time. Lions have a top 5 o-line so Goff is dinking and dunking down the field. Montgomery and Gibbs is a solid Rb duo. Defensively they might not be very good but they are going to make plays. This secondary will give up some plays but they have ballhawks out there. Remember they will be getting Mosley back on the field and when healthy he's good. Hutch as seen from last night has a motor on him and creates disruption in the pocket. Big thing is Campbell has this team believing better yet knowing they belong in the conversation for one of the better teams in the NFC if not the league. When the 53 players in the lockerroom believe that and back their coach the team will be in every game and win a bunch of those games. I follow many of the beat writers in the city and everyone is saying this team has something special cooking. It's not the Same Old Lions. |

0-1 My hometown Lions impressed me and others last night. You can get them at +100 right now to win the division. No it's not an overreaction but I think that's a great bet. OKU good luck with your picks. That Monday night game should be a good one. |

Atlanta -3. Recently #1 picks that are QB have done bad in week 1. I'll ride that wave. Rookie QB on the road I'll take the home team. NYG ML +145. Dak has won 10 straight vs NYG. That streak will end. Nyg will win a close one. NYJ +2.5. Reports out of camp is the Rodgers to Wilson connection has been very good. Sauce Gardner is the real deal and he might be the best corner in the league this year. Give me the home dog. |

Bills vs 49ers SF wins it all. This team will come into the season with a chip on its shoulder after losing their 3rd string QB Purdy in the NFC championship game. This team knows if Purdy didn't get hurt they would have played in the final game. They arguably have the best defense in the league. Their front 7 is stout and does not allow the opponent to run on them. The offense is not a big play threat but efficiency is what they strive for. Kittle, Samuel, and McCaffrey pack enough punch. The NFC is not as strong as years past. The Eagles probably are their toughest competition but I think the Eagles will suffer from a Superbowl hangover. I don't trust Dak and the Cowgirls. The Lions are another year away from a deep playoff run. The time is now in SF. |

It's easier for people to think oh it's Ben's last home game surely they can't lose. Maybe that's true but personally I think he would rather stick it to Baltimore the following week. Obviously Baker's shoulder has hampered the team this year. If it wasn't for his 4 interceptions they very well could have beat GB last week in Lambeau. |

@lordbettington Overall team efficiency Cleveland 16. Pitt 23 Offensive DVOA Pitt 23. Clev 14 Defensive DVOA Pitt 22 Clev 17 Wins and losses only tell part of the story. Having a tie to the Lions is a loss in my eyes. |

@MLMaverick To your question about teams in bad spots and popular angles. I'm assuming you mean bettors fade teams in particular spots. It could be for many reasons like a sandwich game or the team rallying around a recent tragedy. Like in the previous post, Ben isn't the most popular guy in the locker room so I don't anticipate a All-Star performance from the team just because he is retiring. It's a bad matchup for Pitt here. When Pitt beat Cleveland early on, Pittsburgh's defense was playing reasonable but the past 2 months have been abysmal for them. |

@MLMaverick Normally I'd agree with you about a team getting up for certain situations like Mondays but Ben isn't the most loved guy in that locker room. If you recall one of the reasons why Laveon Bell and Antonio Brown left was because of Ben. Now to the other reason why the Steelers swan song game for Ben won't happen Monday. Is Cleveland's season on the line? Yes it is. If it were the usual Browns who would be 3-13 I would say Pittsburgh would roll but the fact that the better team needs to win to stay alive means a lot here. |

You do realize Pittsburgh has given up the most rushing yards this year. Cleveland has the 3rd most rushing yards gained. Chubb is going to run all over this defense. Also the thought that "Pittsburgh wants to win because this is the last home game for Ben" is BS. No player in the league wants to lose any game so that logic is flawed. Ben has had his glory days with Pitt but those are over. No Cinderella story Monday but maybe he beats his nemesis in the season finale week 18.

in NFL Betting They aren't even getting out of the NFC. Dallas's defensive line will be breathing down Rodgers back all day long. You can't overlook the most dominating pass rush in the NFL. |

Last time Braves won a World Series Dallas won a SB and last time Milwaukee won the NBA in 1971 Dallas won a SB. Maybe it's destiny. |
