5 points isn't a lot for a raptors team that will foul even if there down 7 in the last minute.

Haha seriously? They will want Lin to play good, but come on, they are Raptor fans. In fact, minorities represent a larger portion of Raptor fans than the general population. These people who are going down to see Lin play already like basketball and are already Raptor fans. It's not like Lin has caused all these Asians to become basketball fans, they already were. Come the last 2 minutes of the game, they will be cheering for the Raptors even if they secretly hope Lin hits the game winner.

Is melo playing? That might impact some of the chemistry the knicks have right now.

Not to mention this will most likely be the 2nd sell out of the year, and have a bigger crowd than Sunday vs the Lakers.
Remember the greater toronto area is home to roughly 500,000 Chinese, not to mention all the other asian's. Thats like 10-15% of the entire population! Not to mention all my asian friends have been flooding my facebook news feed with Linsanity shit.

Lin and Stoudemire in pick and roll? Amare's PHX days may be returning
in NBA Betting
I don't think it is a coincidence that a Mike D'Antoni team is winning now that they have a PG who can run the pick and roll effectively.
Chandler is great at setting picks, but he can't pick and pop. Amare has ran the pick and roll more than just about any forward in this league. This tandem will be interesting to watch. I like the knicks to win, but fuck sakes they are -5??? I don't know about that. Knicks have been winning close games, I don't think they destroy the raps. This line must be inflated cuz of Lin, all the god damn asians are blindly betting on him.

I don't know why people think Missouri is better than Kansas, I think the Jayhawks pound them when they play later this month.
Kansas +1500

I have never seen Louisville in a 2-3 zone, how can you say its similar to Syracuse???
They play an NBA style zone, press the ball handler and switch switch switch. They switch on cuts, back door screens, pick and rolls, they switch that's their d. And ya they press, but I didn't see them press a lot in the pre-conference schedule. I'll be honest I haven't paid any attention to them in conference, because they were so shitty prior. I guess they are healthy now, and their D is pretty strong, but their O can be painful if the 3's arent going down. We'll see, prior years, LVille had guys who broke 'Cuse down on the perimeter, penetrated the interior and dished for open 3's. Or they pulled up mid range, drew the C-F out, and crashed the boards. You had guys like Terrence Williams crashing the boards against Andy Rautins. Not this year, this year Syracuse has all the black athletes. Don't believe me? Watch syracuse in the open floor, see if you think there is a more athletic team in the country.

BURG2VEGAS is right,
This is the best 'Cuse team since Carmelo, and really, I would say this team is better than that team. The fact is, 'Cuse is a lot deeper now than it has been in years. It has athletes at every position, in the past it had guys like Rautins, Devondorf who could shoot 3's but got destroyed by quick guards. No longer, this team is seriously fucking stacked like I have never seen before. But ya Louisville owns that defense, in fact really, Pitino owns that defense. I remember seeing Lville play in 'Cuse back in '09. Cuse kept it close but Lville started to pull away late in the 2nd half in that game thanks to big games from Earl Clark and Terrence Williams. The fact as good as Boeheim has been, how many NBA players has he had? The best player since Carmelo and Warrick is Wesley Johnson, who aint nothing special. Guys like Donte Green and Flynn have done nothing in the NBA. You could say the same about LVille, but the fact is, they have had more NBA talent than 'Cuse has over the years. Not this year. The fact is, this is the biggest mismatch of all those games in favour of 'Cuse. If 'Cuse cant beat them with this team, they will never beat them!!! LOL at the ppl looking at rebounding numbers. Have you ever tried to fucking rebound in a 2-3 zone before? It aint fucking easy. The 2-3 is meant to push teams out beyond the 3, but gives up rebounds because of long shots. So don't ever look at rebounding numbers for 'Cuse because they are skewed against them. Look at the fact that they have Fab Melo - beast - plus athletes at every position. I think they can rebound just fine. And look at what degen said, you play NBA style with a team with NBA players, you are gonna get beat. LVilles matchup switching zone is going to get busted because it will give Syracuse mismatches all over the place on O. Guys like Fair and Waiters will create havoc, not to mention guys like Jardine and Joseph. Fuck just saying it, holy shit is 'Cuse stacked or what. Fuck sakes. Look at there bench, fucking better than North Carolina starters. |

I saw Magloire, Carter and Barbosa at like 12pm Wednesday night (Thursday morning). Believe me they didn't look like they had just got crushed on the road.
Don't use motivation as a tool for Raptors. 1-9 without Bargnani. Wizards just played Orlando tough on the road. I don't see how this line stays at 4.5.

Friday night games in Toronto are about as big as they get for Raptor fans. But the truth is, Toronto has fared better with the Sunday matinee's than the Friday night games. I don't see tonight being any different.
Washington already has beaten the Raptors. This game smells of Sacramento when the Raps were coming home after a strong road trip to play a shit team. They were laying 6 or 7 i think and got beat out right. The fact is, this team shouldn't be laying points at home to anyone except the Bobcats. After their loss to Boston on Wednesday, the Raptors were back in Toronto by 12 pm, seen at local night spots. The fact is Washington will have the best 2 players on the floor on Wednesday. And although the Wizards are pathetic, they have some talent. The Raptors have nothing, sorry DeMar. Ed Davis is nothing more than a longer Amir Johnson. Gary Forbes is nothing more than a worse version of Jerryd Bayless. Speaking of Bayless, he is the only guy who seems to be able to get to the rim. Barbosa is suffering in this system, look at how many shots he is taking. Kleiza has been the most consistent performer. I just don't see this team stopping John Wall. Rashard Lewis had a pretty solid game last time out against the Raps. Then the length in the front court of Washington will cancel out the length in the front court of Toronto. At the end of the day, Washington has scoring from more positions than Toronto. Unless Toronto's defense steps up, they have no chance. Washington +4.5

VT can't rebound, what's there biggest guy 6'7?
Duke will smash them on the boards. VT struggles to score at times because their offense is so good damn predictable. Just run guys off back screens to the 3 point line constantly until the defense does something stupid. I get dizzy watching them, they don't do anything!! I'd be surprised if duke let them go above 55 points.

Dude Mizzu is not the fucking 2nd ranked team in the country. THEY WERE 2nd ranked. Those rankings are old.

Texas guards have more talent than Mizzu, Brown and Kabongo are both NBAers. But Mizzu just more experienced at this time.
If you want to see who can beat Mizzu, look no further than teams who can out-rebound them. Last time out, Texas outrebounded mizzu at the o glass 16-8. That's not an anomaly, that's getting beat. I don't think books are begging for mizzu money. We all know this team is not the 2nd ranked team. Maybe ranked 9-12 starting this week. The fact that Mizzu couldn't put Texas away at home, tells me that if Texas hangs around, that NBA talent might be the difference. |

Baldguy thats awesome hahahaha.
Texas isn't the only one who had a tough start to the Big 12 slate, look at Martin and his wildcats. He may have been at home for some of them, but the Wildcats have played 3 of the top 4. JFen - how come you don't count the games in which you hedged out. I'm not talking about units, because really the units are a none factor. I know going 1-1 would push your win % down. But who cares about your record, your analysis alone is worth me checking what you are on everyday. I wouldn't care if you hit at 45%, although I don't see how you could with your knowledge.

It's not the same team though. Defensively it's night and day. Bargnani is playing like a beast. Yes he has gone through stretches where he is a beast, but never has he been consistently as good defensively.
Come on now, I know you are a Rap fan. This team might be a whole lot better than people realize. I still don't think they have that killer instinct, and I am expecting a back door by the Nets. |

Hopefully Bibby is back. Douglas couldn't run a set play in a 5-0 drill.

I think 44 we both agree that Toronto is the better team here. I'm on the Nets just because I don't think Toronto has that killer instinct. They were barely better than Cleveland for the majority of the game will shooting 50% and allowing the cavs to only shoot 30%. Realistically they should have been winning by 20 in the 3rd q!!!
I think they win this game, but give me the late push by the Nets for the back door. NJN are in some serious trouble. Deron Williams barely looks like a franchise player. Maybe he is dogging it, maybe he is sulking that his team has very little talent around him. If you look at the Raptors, they have some offense off the bench, they have 2 guys capable of 20 points, they have a PG, they have strong inside guys like Ed Davis and Amir Johnson. The only true weakness on the Raps is SF, and looks like they might be getting Kleiza back. This team's issues were always at the defensive end. Looks like they are playing with more intensity at the defensive end, something that was talked about under Triano, but I never really got the sense that they really tried to make the team a defensive team. I think everyone was resolved to the fact that they needed to outscore the opponent. Well fuck, 6 games in, and now you know that no team wins without good defense, but teams can win with mediocre offenses. Every team that has one a championship has been a top notch defensive team. Jordon's Bulls were notorious for winning 90-80, same with the Celtics. Lakers barely ever gave up more than 100, same with Dallas. Lets not mention Detriot or San Antonio. These teams all seem to have two things in common, strong D and efficient O. The Raps shoot 45%+ every game. They are playing like a good team right now. They look like a tough team to beat, while the Nets look like weaklings. |
