The bolts open on the road in a monsoon where rivers couldnt hear himself think and lose - they then beat the Jags by 20+ at home. The Jags are much better than hawks - and the bolts are much better than broncos - so why then just because the seahawks play at home people think they can cover +5.5. The Bolts roll and roll big time - if Kyle Orton can put up 30+ against the hawks D I like rivers putting up 30+ without a running game Bolts to the bank IMO While I don't think the Seahawks are that good, I also don't think they're that bad. You mention that the Seahawks had short fields against the 49ers but they also gave away at least two scores against Denver with two Hasselback INTs inside the Denver 10 last week. He doesn't turn the ball over and the game is a lot closer. And how do you know it won't be a monsoon in Seattle on Sunday and it's going to be as loud if not louder than KC. Seattle is better than KC and Jacksonville. SD is the better team but getting 5.5 points at home for the Hawks is quite a bit in an early season matchup against the early struggles of SD in the past. I'm taking Hawks on this because this looks extremely similar to the opening week game against KC. Same crowd noise, could be similar weather, and home dog against frustrated Rivers and company. |

Mr. Insight, that's not a bad idea against USC. While USC does have good team speed, that might be a good way to neutralize it and take advantage of Pryor's speed.

USC will probably play 8 men in the box (Taylor Mays maybe) and force Pryor to beat them with his arm and not his feet. If Pryor can have a good game throwing the ball, OSU has a chance but I have yet to see anything spectacular with his arm yet.

People don't need to worry bout Barkley because Carroll won't even call on him to do much. Navy ran down THE Ohio State's defense and you're looking at a USC backfield six deep with the best offensive line in the country getting All-American Kris O'Dowd back this week.
Barkley started off rough last week but once they started running playaction and getting him outside the pocket, he did very well. And Pryor is as athletic of a QB that USC has seen since Vince Young...but a lot of people don't know that the linebacking core that USC has this year is the quickest that Pete Carroll has ever fielded. They don't have the size that last year's core had but their overall team speed on defense is amazing. And last time I checked, Navy's defense was undersized and played pretty well. Even the OSU faithful are expecting a blowout... https://www.dispatch.com/live/content/sports/stories/2009/09/08/arace_9-8.ART_ART_09-08-09_C1_VFF0KF2.html?type=rss&cat=&sid=101 USC has dominated the Big-10 since 2001 and it really doesn't matter when or where they play. Carroll gets his team fired up for these games against ranked teams. He fails against inferior opponents so I really don't see a lull coming from this USC squad this coming week. Taking USC big on this one. |

D-Town, the song really fits well with the movie. By itself, I don't know if it's as powerful. I'm not a big Springsteen fan but I can see how this isn't really much like his other work.

This should be on everyone's MUST SEE list. A lot of people, including my girlfriend, don't want to see this because it's a movie about professional wrestling. But, as a character study, this movie is one of the best I've seen in a really long time.
Mickey Rourke plays Randy "The Ram" Robinson, an 80's iconic wrestler who's fallen on tough times. He's broke, his health is deteriorating, his daughter won't speak to him, and his only saving grace is wrestling in small bingo halls in front of a handful of fans. I don't want to give too much away in the way of plot but rather what makes this movie so powerful.
Mickey Rourke's performance is one for the ages. You want to feel for the guy, and yet, you despise him at the same time. Darren Aranofsky's POV camera angles make you feel and experience Randy's broken-down life one step at a time. There are scenes that are so powerful that I was almost brought to tears when interacting with his daugher and trying to make amends for years of avoidance.
Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood also give two very good performances but Rourke's role alone is worth the price of admission. You'll cheer for him, you'll curse his name, you'll even question how much of the movie is actually fake (much like professional wrestling). While wrestling fans may get more out of this than others, everyone should see this simply because it's an amazing film. Here are some interesting facts about the film also... -Nicolas Cage was originally expected to play Randy "The Ram" Robinson instead of Mickey Rourke.
-Even though professional wrestling is fake and staged, Rourke had 3 MRIs within the first two months of shooting because of injury.
-Rourke did most of his own stunts in the film and trained 3-4 days a week with a professional wrestler to make it as real as possible.
-Bruce Springsteen wrote the original song for the movie simply based on a quick readthrough of the script and because Rourke was one of his personal friends.
HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND SEEING THIS FILM! You won't be sorry and maybe even moved at the same time.
Professional wrestling is fake but it's a lot more real than you think...

Four new reviews from your favorite neighborhood Peter Griffin fan...
Kung Fu Panda- Pretty fun animated film. The action and animation in this film is pretty amazing to watch (especially on Blu-Ray) and of course, it has a great message for the kids. Jack Black plays Kung Fu Panda pretty well and it's one of the more enjoyable animated films that I've seen recently.
The Counterfeiters- Foreign film that was nominated for an Academy Award last year. An amazing story about how the Nazis during WWII implemented a secret counterfeiting mission to try and hyperinflate the Allied forces economies, but used imprisoned person to do all of this. Very powerful film and an amazing true story. If you were a person during WWII and imprisoned by the Nazis in a concentration camp, would you help the Nazis to save your own skin? The moral dilemma is addressed throughout the film and when you realize how this single operation could have drastically changed the war, it makes it that much more powerful. Depressing but highly recommend seeing.
The Happening- Hands down, the worst movie I saw in 2008. I can't believe all the problems this movie has. Horrible script, piss poor acting with terrible casting choices, not suspenseful, rated R but I've seen worse violence in PG-13 movies, etc. M. Night Shamalamadingdong should not be allowed to make movies anymore after his last few. Oh, and if you're looking for the twist ending in this one, you'll be sorely disappointed as there is none. No resolution, just done with no explanation. Stay away from this unless you're forced to!
The Wrestler- As a closet WWE fan for most of my life, this movie hit on all chords. It legitimizes the "fake" nature of wrestling but also shows the glaring underbelly of the industry and how dangerous it can be. The rampant drug use, the lack of serious money for most wrestlers, the strained relationships, etc. Mickey Rourke should win the Academy Award this year because he captures everything in this film. If you've ever been a fan of professional wrestling, SEE THIS FILM! If you've never been a fan of professional wrestling, SEE THIS FILM! It's gripping, it's powerful, it's excellent.

One of the best acted movies I've seen in a very long time. Ledger's role was terrific. I give it a 9.5 out of 10. I just bought this on Blu-Ray yesterday and it's something to behold. I've seen the movie I think twice (once in the IMAX theater and once at home now) and I can't imagine a more perfect movie put together. As great as Heath Ledger is, I think Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent is also very good. Great writing, great direction, a few plot problems but other than that, one of the top movies in 2008! |

This team returned like 19 of 22 starters last year and Pryor hasn't shown me anything yet except that he's got some potential and could be good later on in his career. The problem with OSU is they beat up on lesser opponents all the time but then gets demolished and embarrassed by more talented teams. They played Penn State close but I see this game being a lot like the USC game. Texas just has a quicker, more physical defense and a pretty damn good offense to boot. Final score: Texas 35 OSU 13 |

Howl's Moving Castle- Animated Japanese film (anime) but isn't really like those crazy Anime films you may have seen in the past. It's actually a cool kids film with Disney Pictures picking up the rights here in the States. I liked it but I'm sure people will be turned off by the animation.
Boogeyman- Don't ask me why I watched this but it was on television and I started watching it Sunday morning because I couldn't sleep and football wasn't on yet. THIS MOVIE STUNK SOOOOOO BAD! I could have directed this. It wasn't scary. It wasn't gory. The story and acting sucked. And the end was so freaking dumb I wanted to call Ghost House myself and asked why they greenlit this.

USC's offense stats are very skewed because of the pac 10 sucking this year. This is the dumbest remark/reason for USC's offense being supposedly bad. I'm going to argue (AGAIN!!!) the futility of USC's offense but your reasoning is stupid Dogear. They are not bad but simply inconsistant. Or if you want, we can talk about how Penn State put up 20 against Big-10 powerhouse Purdue! Or 13 against OSU after USC put 35 up on em. It's a moot point because both teams struggled this year in a couple wins. I could also talk about how Penn State's stats are skewed because they played Coastal Carolina, Syracuse and Temple. Everyone talks about their bad offensive games and never about their good ones. How bout putting 52 up on Virginia IN Virginia? 44 on Oregon? 35 on OSU and their top 10 defense? Or what about Penn State not even playing 2 of the top 6 teams in the Big-10 this year (Northwestern and Minnesota)? Once again, Penn State is a great program with a good offense and solid defense. But don't take anything away from USC. They have just as many playmakers on offense as Penn State. AND THEIR OFFENSE IS NOT BAD BUT SIMPLY INCONSISTANT! |

You're totally right! USC 14th in nation in points scored (37.5 PPG) and 14th in total offense (452.8 YPG). They are statistically similar to Penn State in almost every facet of this game. I'm still on USC but when I read ridiculous claims like this, I need to put people in their place. USC's offense is NOT bad but simply inconsistant. All it has to do is come to play for one more game and Carroll and his coaching staff is maybe the best at gameplanning and execution when you give them time to scheme. BOL chisler69 but your comment needed to be addressed. |

dontbookme, BOL on these games. Hmmmm...a guy from Pennsylvania backing Penn State?
Just kidding, personal biases come into play all the time. Kinda like how I graduated from USC and think they will beat and cover the Rose Bowl game.
BOL to the Nittany Lions. Have fun in SoCal.

A true story to boot. Yeah, I've seen it. What makes that movie so amazing is how his progresses throughout the film. He starts the movie healthy and then as the movie progresses, slowly loses a ton of weight. Amazing story also and he does a great job in it. In the Machinist, he's skinny the whole movie. But I did like that Rescue Dawn movie. A very unnerving, incredible survival story. |

But Bama is still an amazing squad, specifically their defense. Their offense doesn't do anything for me and they've struggled just like USC has this year (20-6 vs. Tulane, 17-14 vs. Kentucky, 27-21 vs. LSU in OT) but nonetheless, they are a top 5 team right now but unfortunately, they won't be the most balanced in this SEC championship game. |

USC -7.5 or -8 I believe.
Pac-10 sucks.
Big-10 sucks.
That's all I hear from people over and over and over again.
I'm just hoping for a good game and as a Trojans fan are excited to play Penn State. Here's to kicking the crap out of UCLA and having a competitive Rose Bowl.
