The Toronto Blue Jays will aim to pick up their first series win in nearly a month when they finish off a three-game set against the Seattle Mariners at T-Mobile Park.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. led the offense once again on Saturday with a couple of RBI and remains one of the hottest hitters in the majors over the last couple of weeks. Will he keep it going in this afternoon’s series finale?

Find out in my Blue Jays vs. Mariners predictions and MLB picks for Sunday, July 7.

Blue Jays vs Mariners prediction

My best bet
Blue Jays team total Under 3.5 (-132 at PROLINE+)

My analysis

The Toronto Blue Jays put up a respectable offensive showing in Saturday’s 5-4 win, but that’s been far from the norm of late. The Jays have scored three runs or fewer in five of their last seven outings, which is part of why I’m taking them to record Under 3.5 runs this afternoon.

While Vladimir Guerrero Jr. woke up yesterday with his first two RBI in six games, most of Toronto’s top bats remain asleep at the plate. Bo Bichette is batting .105 over the past week while Daulton Varsho is also hitting .150 with just one RBI over that span.

Toronto will also be in tough this afternoon against Seattle Mariners starter Geoge Kirby, who’s in the midst of his best stretch of the season. The right-hander went 3-0 in June while posting a 1.74 ERA and a stingy 0.84 WHIP while holding batters to a .204 average.

Kirby has surrendered two earned runs or fewer in seven straight starts while pitching through at least the sixth inning in six of those games, so the Blue Jays bats could have a quiet day.

Blue Jays star player prop

My best bet
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 RBI (+145 at PROLINE+)

I’ll stick with the hot hand for my Blue Jays star player prop as I once again look for Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to notch another RBI.

Vladdy snapped a five-game RBI drought on Saturday with two hits and two RBI. Despite the slump, the Jays slugger still paces the majors with 21 RBI over the last 15 days while batting .400 during that timeframe.

Guerrero Jr. continues to hit the ball well, ranking fourth in the majors in average exit velocity (94 mph) and ninth in barrels hit (36), so we shouldn’t be surprised at his surge in production.
