My analysis
The Toronto Blue Jays were hoping to carry the momentum of recent series wins into their current set with the Baltimore Orioles. Well, it became quickly apparent that there’s a difference between the Chicago White Sox, the Pittsburgh Pirates, and a real baseball team.
The Orioles' potent young lineup took Kevin Gausman to task yesterday, putting up seven runs on 10 hits. It was the 11th time in the last 15 games that the O's have plated at least five runs.
Heading into tonight's contest, Baltimore ranks ninth in batting average, third in OPS, and fourth in wRC+. The Blue Jays rotation is dealing with some injuries and that means reliever Trevor Richards will take the ball as an opener before handing it over to Bowden Francis.
Richards and his changeup have been effective, pitching to a 3.27 expected ERA and limiting opponents to a .192 opponent expected batting average, but two innings for Richards is probably the max.
This means the Blue Jays’ bullpen will have to pitch nine innings in this game, and it's a collection of arms that rank 25th in xFIP and 27th in strikeouts per nine innings.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Over 0.5 RBIs (+165 at PROLINE+)
If the Blue Jays are going to have a shot in this one, they’re going to need Vladimir Guerrero Jr. to fuel their offense. Toronto’s star first baseman has shouldered the offensive load for a team that hasn’t been able to score runs consistently.
Guerrero is hitting .368 with a .944 OPS for the last 32 games, where he has collected three home runs, seven doubles, and 17 RBIs. That includes hammering an absolute laser for a dinger last night.
Although the matchup against Corbin Burnes will be tough, Vladdy is a solid 2-6 in his career vs. Burnes. With the guys in front of Guerrero doing a better job of getting on base, it’s worth backing Guerrero to record an RBI for the third straight game.
