Friday night’s 6-1 victory over the Houston Astros was the Minnesota Twins' eighth win across their last 10.
My Twins vs. Astros predictions think Minnesota will do just that, with the red-hot Joe Ryan taking the bump for the visitors on June 1. Find out more in my MLB picks for this AL showcase.

My analysis
The Minnesota Twins are winning games, and Joe Ryan is a big reason why.
Ryan and his four-seamer have surrendered only one earned run across his last 14 frames on the bump. He scattered seven hits with 15 punchouts, walked only a pair, and can certainly keep it going today against the struggling Houston Astros.
Houston has had difficulties scoring runs this season with its big lineup on paper scoring 10 runs across its last five in part because the ‘Stros sticks strand the 23rd-most runners in scoring position (3.52).
Ryan has had great command and is 2-0 with a 1.44 ERA across 31 1/3 frames in the visitor's jersey. As good as Ryan has been, and he’s been good, the Minnesota bullpen is tied for first in holds (44), which will leave it up to the Twinkies bats against Astros lefty Framber Valdez.
Valdez has struggled across his last two starts, allowing 11 earned runs across his last 11 frames. Minnesota has scored 24 runs across its last five and enters this matchup riding a three-game road winning streak. Not good news for ole' Framber
The Astros bullpen has also been hit or miss (mostly miss) which should allow for the Twins sticks to give Ryan all the runs of support he usually enjoys (4.64).
Twins vs Astros same-game parlay (SGP)
Twins SS Carlos Correa has a two-game hitting streak on the line today, and he hits lefties well from the visitor's dugout: The Twins shortstop is 7-for-22 this season against southpaws with small sample success (2-for-4, 4 RBI) against Valdez.
Minnesota OF Byron Buxton has one total base in six of his past 10. Buxton is hitting .250 against southpaws, but his .333 BABIP and .338 wOBA suggest his luck could change today against the struggling Valdez.
