The Boston Celtics’ hopes of progressing in the In-Season Tournament are hanging by a thread heading into tonight’s contest against the Chicago Bulls—– but they’re not down and out yet.

Despite a 13-4 start to the season, the Celtics’ loss to the Orlando Magic on Friday was a hammer blow to their tournament chances. Boston limps into this final group game without key starters but rebounded with a win over the Atlanta Hawks over the weekend.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are a miserable 0-3 in group play — which just about sums up their season so far — and they arrive in Beantown on a four-game losing streak after falling 118-109 to the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday despite 27 points from DeMar DeRozan.

Check out our free Bulls vs Celtics NBA picks and predictions for Tuesday, November 28.

Bulls vs Celtics predictions

This Boston Celtics roster is so talented that they’re cruising along at the top of the Eastern Conference while still learning how to maximize their offseason additions.

But tonight should feel a bit more like last season’s Celtics, with Kristaps Porzingis out and Jrue Holiday listed as questionable. That sets the stage for the Jayson and Jalen Show once again at TD Garden.

With extra shots up for grabs in a rejigged starting lineup, I’m riding with the Jayson Tatum points prop tonight against a struggling Chicago Bulls team that has given up more than 115 points in each of their last four games. Plus, Alex Caruso, their best perimeter defender, is dealing with a toe injury.

Tatum certainly added volume on Sunday, scoring 34 points on 25 field-goal attempts while knocking down five triples. While his scoring numbers have fluctuated, he’s still averaging 28 points on 49% shooting.

In his most recent matchup against Chicago, Tatum hit 10 of 21 shots on the way to 32 points and I see him thriving with the extra offensive burden.

My best bet: Jayson Tatum Over 28.5 points (-110 at BetMGM25% odds boost token available

Jayson Tatum Over 28.5 points

Al Horford Over 7.5 rebounds

Celtics 1H -7.5

With Porzingis out and a lot of frontcourt depth exiting Boston during the summer, Al Horford should have a bigger role tonight — and the Celtics will need his size against Nikola Vucevic.

I’m looking at the Horford rebounds prop for my SGP. He pulled down 15 rebounds in 32 minutes against the Hawks on Sunday and has a path to at least eight more here. Horford was already averaging 6.5 rebounds a night this year and the uptick in playing time should bring the Over into play.

I’m also jumping on the chance to bet against this Bulls team keeping pace with the hosts. The Celtics will be out to improve their point differential from a seeding perspective and they’re 7-0 at home this year.

A 13.5-point spread makes me a little nervous, so I’m going to grab the first-half line instead. After all, Chicago gave up 44 points in the second quarter against the Nets on the weekend.

Bulls vs Celtics spread and Over/Under analysis

Even with Boston limping into this In-Season Tournament clash, the hosts are double-digit favorites. All the signs point to the Celtics picking up the win and finishing 3-1 in group play, especially as Boston has won the last three meetings between these teams at TD Garden.

They’re 8-2 in their last 10 games, but 2-2 in their past four. Still, they did enough to take down Atlanta last time out, with Tatum and Jaylen Brown combining for 55 points and Derrick White stepping up with 11 assists.

In stark contrast, the Bulls have lost three of their last four games by 13 points or more, so it’s hard to argue with the spread, even with the looming threat of garbage time. Somehow, though, Chicago is 8-2 ATS in its last 10 outings.

The Celtics haven’t quite hit the expected heights offensively this year — and that’s highlighted by the Under going 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. It’s also 7-3 in the past 10 meetings between these teams.

The Over has hit in three of the Bulls’ last four games, but I see the visitors having a tough time scoring against this Boston defense.

Bulls vs Celtics betting trend to know

Despite the offensive strengths that DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine bring to the table, the Bulls have only hit the Team Total Over in 23 of their last 62 games. Find more NBA betting trends for Bulls vs. Celtics.
