My analysis
The Boston Celtics sport the second-best record in the Association at 14-3, but the C’s have covered in just seven of 17 games. The Los Angeles Clippers are a respectable 11-7, but they have been far better at covering with an 11-6-1 against-the-spread record.
The Clippers have won and covered in five straight and are 4-0 as 6.5-point dogs or longer, covering against the Kings, Nuggets, Thunder, and Warriors. All four of those games came on the road, so there’s no trepidation in picking the Clippers to cover at TD Garden tonight. Plus, the Clippers covered the only game where they were underdogs by 9+ points.
The Celtics are just 1-4 ATS when favored by seven or more, including a 1-1 mark when favored by at least nine. Boston has only played four games against teams with a .500 record or better and has covered only one team with a winning record. Boston has played only two games against Western Conference opponents, going 0-2 ATS.
Playing at TD Garden is not an advantage in the point differential department for Boston. The Celtics defense has allowed 108.6 points on the road compared to 112.6 at home, scoring 122 on the road and 117 at home, and are just +4.9 at the Garden vs. +13.4 as the away team. The Clippers are +1.9 on the road.
Boston has been mediocre against the spread and the schedule hasn’t been too difficult. I’m backing the hot visiting team to cover as Boston plays the second leg of a back-to-back set.

Jaylen Brown Over 33.5 points + rebounds + assists
I’ll continue to go back to Ivica Zubac as long as his combo prop lines are set this low. On the season, the big man is averaging 27.7 points+rebounds across 33.2 minutes per game. That includes 26.8 PRs at home and 29 PRs on the road.
He’s hit the Over on this line in 11 of 18 appearances and totaled exactly 25 PRs in two more games. Zubac has been stellar on the road, hitting the Over in five of seven.
The Celtics defense has allowed the ninth-most rebounds and fourth-most paint points this season, so I’ll hammer the Over here.
Jaylen Brown has been cooking, and he’s been particularly great as of late. Boston’s right-handed forward has averaged 25.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. The boards and dimes are career-highs, and he’s posting 36.7 PRAs.
Brown has hit the Over on this line in two straight and five of six. Los Angeles’ defense is formidable, but Brown has been tremendous against all comers, so I’ll count on him having another strong showing in front of the home crowd.
