My analysis
To be brutally honest, James Harden isn’t the same electric scorer he once was. This season, the veteran is averaging 21.5 points on 34.5% shooting from downtown. While his playmaking is still top-notch, Harden struggles to consistently put the ball in the hoop.
He’s hit the Under in points in four of his last six outings, scoring only 10 in the win over Atlanta while putting up just 17 points on New Year’s Eve against the Spurs. Overall, Harden is also shooting a mere 39% from the field. Not the best by any means.
To back up this bet, we can also take a look at his history against Minnesota. Harden scored five points versus the Minnesota Timberwolves on December 4 and had 20 a few days before that against them. Although Kawhi will be eased back into action, that will also take away shots from Harden. The Wolves are a tough matchup for point guards too, allowing just 22.5 points per game.
My NBA picks really don’t have a lot of belief in the 35-year-old right now because he’s so up-and-down offensively. Lock this one in with confidence.

Anthony Edwards just balled out for a mind-boggling 53 points on Saturday, yet the Timberwolves somehow managed to lose to the Pistons by 14 points. We’re going to focus on his 3-point shooting tonight because Ant was on fire from deep in that game and has been shooting it well overall.
Edwards was 10-for-15 from beyond the arc vs. Detroit. He’s hit the Over in triples in four of his last six appearances. The superstar was also 4-for-9 from long range in both games against the Los Angeles Clippers earlier this season.
So far, Ant is averaging 4.1 makes on 9.9 attempts per game for a 42% clip from 3-point land. The former first-overall pick is shooting the lights out of the gym and could barely miss against Detroit. He’ll find a rhythm again tonight.
While Minnesota has lost three in a row, they’ve actually won three straight games against the Clippers, which is why I’m eyeing the moneyline. It’s a perfect opportunity for them to get back on track against a team they’ve really dominated lately.
The Timberwolves are also 9-6-0 SU as a home favorite. Minny will bring their best tonight against Kawhi & Co.
