The surging Oklahoma City Thunder have announced themselves as ahead-of-schedule title contenders this season — and they can take another step towards the No. 1 seed in the West as they host the Memphis Grizzlies tonight.

With eight straight wins at Paycom Center, the Thunder are heavy favorites in this spot and took care of business at home against the Miami Heat on Friday behind more magic from Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who finished with 37 points and six assists.

Injuries have made this a nightmare season for the Grizzlies, but they’re still playing hard for Taylor Jenkins and have covered the spread in two of their last three contests, including a 99-92 loss to the Hawks last time out.

Read on for my free Grizzlies vs. Thunder NBA picks ahead of what looks like a lopsided matchup.

Grizzlies vs Thunder predictions

Chet Holmgren’s outstanding rookie season and the sheer volume of highlight plays have probably made him the No. 2 guy in OKC in most people’s eyes, but Jalen Williams is right there in the conversation too with his stellar two-way play — and I’m picking him to feast on the Memphis Grizzlies defense tonight.

J-Dub has had 22+ in five of his last seven outings, busting out of SGA’s shadow whenever the Oklahoma City Thunder need an extra spark. He poured in 31 points against the Trail Blazers in midweek on 9-for-17 shooting.

February was his best scoring month of the season — averaging 22.3 ppg, with an uptick in field goal attempts — and he’s always going to benefit from the extra attention that SGA draws in OKC’s halfcourt sets. That goes some way to explaining Williams’ 54% mark from the field this year.

The Grizzlies had no answer to Dejounte Murray on Friday as the Atlanta guard exploded for 41 points, and I see the Thunder backcourt having similar joy tonight. This feels like a generous line for the Williams points prop and I’m jumping on the Over.

My best bet: Jalen Williams Over 18.5 points (-105 at DraftKings)

Grizzlies vs Thunder same-game parlay

Jalen Williams Over 18.5 points

Josh Giddey Over 6.5 rebounds

Over 220.5

Josh Giddey can sometimes be the unsung member of this Thunder core, but his versatile game makes him a neat fit with just about any lineup. I’m focusing on his rebounding prop as OKC again leans on his size to help clean the glass.

At 6-foot-8, Giddey's a terrific rebounder for a guard and he ended up with nine boards against the Heat last time out. He also finished February with 7+ rebounds three times in the last four games.

If Holmgren is attached to Jaren Jackson Jr. on the perimeter at times tonight, Giddey is the natural choice to crash the boards.

I’m also picking the Over in this SGP. The Thunder are tied for third in the NBA with 120.8 ppg and they still got to 107 points against Miami on Friday despite missing 26 of their 38 threes.

The Grizzlies have only scored more than 106 points once in their last eight games, but the visitors may get Luke Kennard back from injury here. Regardless, I’m comfortable relying on the OKC offense to do the heavy lifting on the way to the Over.

Grizzlies vs Thunder spread and Over/Under analysis

The Thunder have a narrow edge in the four-horse race for the top spot in the West and they’re 8-2 in their past 10 games. They’ve shown they can win in different ways, grinding out a tight victory against the Heat two nights after edging a shootout against the Trail Blazers.

OKC has also been an ATS powerhouse this season, boasting a 38-25 mark against the spread, and they’re 25-6 at home overall.

While that warrants strong consideration to lay the points with the hosts, a 15-point line is a huge number, especially with Memphis still bringing its trademark grit — and 15 of the Grizzlies’ 22 victories this season have come on the road.

The Thunder have trended toward the Over all season (36-26-1 O/U) with their high-powered offense. It’s a different story for the visitors, who’ve hammered the Under with Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, and Desmond Bane all missing time.

Even with the blowout potential, I’ve picked the Over in my SPG and I’m riding with SGA to further his MVP case and guide the hosts to another efficient offensive night.
