My analysis
Zaccharie Risacher’s 3-pointers prop is appealing at 1.5 with plus-money odds, but I’m more interested in his modest scoring prop.
This year’s first overall pick has scored 17 and 30 across his last two outings, and he’s scored at least 11 in three straight. He should continue to see more opportunities as a scorer with Jalen Johnson sidelined.
Risacher has logged 10 games without Johnson this season, and the splits are notable. With Johnson available, the rookie has averaged 10.5 points and 1.2 triples while shooting 39.8% from the floor and 27.7% from beyond the arc across 23.4 minutes. With Johnson out, Risacher has averaged 13.3 points and 1.7 triples on 47.2/42.5 shooting splits across 25.1 minutes.
In those 10 games with Johnson out, Risacher scored 12 or more points six times and hit multiple 3-pointers five times. Over his last 12 games overall, Risacher has averaged 12.6 points and hit the Over on this line seven times.
The rookie has scored at least 12 points in 18 games and at least 11 in 24. He’s averaged 10.4 points at home and 11.7 on the road, making tonight’s matchup favorable at Little Caesars Arena. Of his 18 games with 12 points, 13 have come on the road, and he’s reached this mark in 54.2% of his road matchups.
Johnson is just one of several key Atlanta Hawks who are sidelined tonight. Clint Capela and Bogdan Bogdanovic will miss this matchup, which should offer Risacher additional scoring opportunities and more playing time in the frontcourt. I’ll happily take the Over on a player who’s starting to heat up when his team needs him the most.
