Julian Reese has been an effective rebounder even when his shot isn't dropping, and the Maryland standout will clean the glass regularly vs. Michigan tonight.

There’s plenty to play for in the final week of Big Ten action, with the Maryland Terrapins and Michigan Wolverines trying to better their seeding for the upcoming conference tournament.

Those programs clash in Ann Arbor tonight, where the Terrapins’ frontcourt talents will crash the glass and get a big effort from standout forward Julian Reese.

I like Reese to go Over his rebounding prop with my best college basketball picks and predictions for Wednesday, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. ET.

Maryland vs Michigan prediction

My best bet
Julian Reese Over 9.5 rebounds (-105 at bet365)

My analysis
Julian Reese has been quiet offensively the past two games, putting up twin four-point efforts in meetings with Penn State and Michigan State.

But while his shot may not be dropping, going a combined 4-for-17, Reese finds other ways to contribute. He snatched 15 rebounds in the tight win over PSU and is averaging 9.3 boards during conference play.

Reese’s rebounding prop for tonight’s tilt with the Michigan Wolverines is parked at that average, sitting at 9.5 rebounds (Over -105).

The Wolverines have a big lineup and rank among the better rebounding sides in the Big Ten (third in total rebounds) yet have been bullied on the boards by bigger foes.

Most notably, they’re giving up more than 12 offensive rebounds a night, including 19 offensive boards in the loss to Illinois on Sunday (in which UM was out-rebounded 43-32). Reese ranks third in offensive rebounds in the Big Ten, hauling in 2.7 ORB an outing.

The Maryland Terrapins matches UM’s interior length with Reese and fellow standout big Derik Queen cleaning the glass. Reese, in particular, has recorded double-digit rebounds in eight of Maryland’s 11 games since the calendar flipped to 2025.

These are two of the better defenses in the Big Ten, so easy looks at the hoop could be tough to come by. Michigan and Maryland sit No. 3 and No. 5 in effective field-goal rate against. They also rank among the fastest tempos in the conference, meaning more possessions and shot attempts, leading to more rebounding chances.

Reese’s player projections range from eight rebounds to a high of 12, with the 6-foot-9 senior hauling down 10 or more boards in 64% of game models, which should have the Over 9.5 rebounds carrying vig close to -175. My number sits around 10.5 rebounds from Reese, giving good value to his current prop price of Over 9.5 rebounds -105.

Maryland vs Michigan same-game parlay (SGP)

Julian Reese 10+ Rebounds

Rodney Rice 15+ Points

Under 154.5

Reese has snatched 10+ rebounds in eight of his last 11 games and will do extra work on the offensive glass versus UM.

Rodney Rice is Maryland’s best scorer in transition. The Terps thrive off points caused by turnovers and UM has issues controlling the ball.

Game models range from 151 to 152.5 points, which all come in Under the current total of 154.5 points.
