Each year, Covers tracks the largest wagers on the Super Bowl right up until game time.

Super Bowl LVIII, featuring the Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers, is just hours away.

The 49ers opened as the favorites when the matchup was determined, and while most of the bets and money are on the Chiefs, the biggest bets are on San Francisco to win.

Biggest Super Bowl Bets

Feb. 11: Mad rush to the ticket window

There's been a flurry of big bets in the hours leading up to kickoff of Super Bowl 58.

We're now at five million-dollar bets on the Big Game.

A day after Drake dropped $1.15 million on a ticket, Circa took another $1 million bet on the Chiefs to cover the spread.

Then, BetMGM printed another million-dollar bet on the 49ers on the moneyline at -130 odds.

Famed poker player and sports bettor Sean Perry made a $1.1 million bet on the 49ers on Saturday night.

Feb. 10: Big as the Super Bowl

The eve of the Super Bowl began with three whale bets on the 49ers, then a celebrity bettor weighed in.

Drake posted on his Instagram a $1.15 million ticket on the Chiefs.

"I can't bet against the Swifties," he added.

Drake's stake is the biggest on the Big Game thus far. It was followed by two reported major spread bets on the Chiefs. This bucks a trend in which the public has been heavily behind the Chiefs, but most of the big bets have been on the 49ers.

Three more big money bets came in on the 49ers to win Super Bowl LVIII earlier in the day, bets that qualify as among the 10 biggest to date.

BetMGM took a $250,000 bet on the 49ers -2 and a $100,000 wager on the Niners on the moneyline at -130 odds, according to BetMGM's John Ewing

Then, a $215,000 stake on the NFC champions at -130 odds emerged at SuperBook Nevada, according to sports betting journalist Ben Fawkes.

Nonetheless, 78% of all wagers are still on the Chiefs to capture the Lombardi Trophy.

Feb. 9: Another $600K bet on San Fran

Another day, another six-figure bet on the 49ers to win Super Bowl LVIII. This time, a bettor at Caesars Palace plunked down $668,181 (yes, that amount specifically) on San Francisco to cover the -2 spread, according to Fawkes. This now slots in as the second biggest bet on the Big Game to date.

Also on Friday, a bettor at the South Point in Las Vegas dropped $205,000 down on the 49ers moneyline at -125 odds, according to Jimmy Vaccaro. That now makes the six biggest Super Bowl bets all on the 49ers.

Feb. 8: Gold rush on 49ers

The biggest bettors continue to favor the 49ers. A $600,000 bet on San Francisco on the moneyline at -120 odds came in at DraftKings on Thursday. That makes the four biggest bets on the Super Bowl on the Niners to win.

However, Mattress Mack, famous for his whale bets, has said he's on the Chiefs to win, though he doesn't anticipate betting on it at these current prices.

In addition, legendary sports bettor Billy Walters told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he intends to bet between $500,000 and $1 million on the Chiefs.

Feb. 7: Half a million on the Niners

Just four days out from Super Bowl Sunday, two big money bets came in on the 49ers. A customer at Caesars placed a $500,000 bet on the 49ers' moneyline at -125 odds, according to Fawkes. It's the second-biggest bet on a side to date, following a million-dollar wager on the Niners at -120 odds.

A bettor at DraftKings followed up with another $500,000 moneyline bet on San Fran. The three biggest Super Bowl bets are on Kyle Shanahan's squad finally breaking through.

Feb. 6: Big bet on Chiefs

The biggest bet to date on the Chiefs was been placed at FanDuel. A bettor wagered $200,000 on Kansas City to win the game outright, at +110 odds, according to Fawkes. It follows a large volume of bets on the defending champs once odds became available.

Jan. 30: 49ers money coming in

Our first big 49ers bet is in, and so is our biggest wager to date.

A bettor in Michigan placed $1 million on the 49ers to win Super Bowl LVIII at odds of -120 at Caesars.

On Monday, a bettor at South Point dropped $105,000 on the 49ers to cover the -1 spread at -105 odds and added a $57,000 moneyline ticket on the Niners at -114 odds, according to Jimmy Vaccaro.

When the matchup was cemented on Sunday evening, the 49ers opened as -3.5 favorites, but the Chiefs were bet heavily and the line dropped to -1 before climbing back up to -2 on Tuesday.

Jan. 25: Mahomes Mania

After watching the Chiefs knockoff the high-flying Miami Dolphins in the wild-card round and win the first playoff road game in the Mahomes era in Buffalo, bettors were no longer doubting Kansas City.

Money was already coming in on the Chiefs to win the Super Bowl even prior to the AFC Championship game against the Baltimore Ravens.

One bettor at BetMGM put $30,000 on the Chiefs to raise the Lombardi Trophy, causing the book to move Kansas City's odds from +500 to +380, according to Ewing.

Not to be outdone, a bettor at Caesars dropped $100,000 on the Chiefs to win Super Bowl 58 at +500 odds.
