Kendrick Lamar Halftime Predictions
Kendrick Lamar first song: Squabble Up (+450)
When this market first opened up, I liked "Squabble Up" at +380... but after there has been a bit of steam the past few days to move "HUMBLE" to favorite, I'm getting an even better price for sticking with my guy.
A song off his newest album, GNX, this song has all the elements of a great opener: It's immediately identifiable (with those deep, heavy breaths leading into the lyrics), slowly builds the energy (easing everyone into the show), and then gets into an upbeat tempo.
It also allows K.Dot to not start with his biggest hit — "Not Like Us" — which I believe he will perform as his last song.
Total Songs Over 10.5 (-175)
This is admittedly juicy, as the Over has seen a ton of movement during Super Bowl Week 2, but that doesn't mean it's the right side.
Kendrick has such a creative ability to poetically weave in and out of songs and blend his music together; I expect him to feature some hooks only, add a couple of iconic lyrics/monologues, and only really drive lengthily into a couple of songs... which ultimately gets us to at least 11 unique tracks performed during the set.
