We're just five days away from Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite early money coming in on the two-time defending champs, buyback on the Eagles has brought the spread back down to the opening number of -1.
Meanwhile, the moneyline has moved even closer to a pick'em and the total has stayed steady at 49. I break down the betting splits with the latest insights and Super Bowl odds for the big game on Sunday, February, 9.

Early line movement
Early money came in on the Kansas City Chiefs immediately after the AFC Championship, moving their moneyline price from -120 to -130 and their spread from -1 to -2 by Monday morning.
However, there has since been buyback on the Philadelphia Eagles. That has brought the spread back down to -1, with the Chiefs ML shifting to -115.
Sharps on Chiefs, Public Leans Toward Eagles
Kansas City has been extremely profitable for pro bettors during the Patrick Mahomes era. The Chiefs are an incredible 29-9-1 ATS as an underdog or a favorite of less than a field goal with Mahomes as their starter. Mahomes is also 17-3 SU and 14-6 ATS in the playoffs in his career.
At Caesars, 54% of the moneyline handle has come in on the Chiefs, along with 51% of the handle on the spread. However, the public has a slight lean towards Philadelphia, with 52% of spread bets coming in on the Eagles — as well as 53% of moneyline tickets.
Given how close those betting splits are, I don't expect to see much line movement before kickoff.

Bettors Hammer the Over, but Total Stays Stagnant
With both Conference Championship games soaring Over the total and these teams combining for 73 points at the Super Bowl two years ago, it isn't surprising that bettors have been hammering the Over. Nobody likes to root for an Under, and as of February 3, 80% of the bets and 79% of the handle have poured in on the Over.
The total opened at 48 and quickly peaked at 49.5 before surprisingly dipping back to 49. Oddsmakers are clearly a bit reluctant to approach the key O/U of 51, with both teams boasting strong defenses and methodical attacks.
