Purple was established as the favorite mostly because the Chiefs have already used that color of electrolytes in each of the past two Super Bowls. In Kansas City’s first Super Bowl win of the Reid/Mahomes era five years ago, they used the color orange.
Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni got the Gatorade treatment in the NFC Championship game win over the Commanders two weeks ago. Philly used the traditional Gatorade color of yellow/green/lime in their bucket that day. It’s no surprise that yellow/green/lime had the second lowest price heading into Super Bowl 59, given that the Eagles used it that recently.
