My analysis
The Boston Bruins went into the break on a two-game losing streak and have yet to secure a victory in three games since. However, they’ve earned two points via two overtime losses with all five of their recent defeats coming by just one goal.
In fact, the Bruins outshot the Islanders 39-20 on Thursday night which came after a 36-29 shot advantage against the Leafs.
On the flip side, the Pittsburgh Penguins have been allowing goals left and right while also getting outshot by a total of 75-49 in their last two games. Pittsburgh has allowed 23 goals in four games since the 4 Nations Face-Off break.
This will be the Penguins’ fifth game since the break and all four contests have been emotional ones against divisional opponents. The adrenaline will run out on Saturday afternoon against a hungry Bruins team that tends to play well during day games.
