The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens face off in a classic rivalry matchup at TD Garden tonight. They split the first two meetings back in November with the Canadiens beating the B's 3-2 in overtime in Montreal and the Bruins taking care of business in a 5-2 win at home.
Montreal is closing out a three-game road trip with its third game in four nights, and the NHL odds reflect this.
Meanwhile, the Bruins are looking for their fourth straight win following a three-game losing streak. Both of their most recent wins came at home, 3-0 over the Devils and 5-2 against the Avalanche.
Are the Bruins worth backing as big favorites at home tonight? Read on for our Canadiens vs. Bruins NHL picks and predictions on Saturday, January 20.

Canadiens vs Bruins predictions
The Boston Bruins entered this season with some question marks at the center position after both Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci retired last offseason after one last crack at the Cup.
However, Charlie Coyle has been one of the B’s pivotmen to step up this season. After putting up 44 and 45 points in his last two seasons, Coyle already has 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists) in 44 games this year.
Coyle has moved around the lineup thus far but he’s currently on the top line with Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. He’s also on the top power-play unit with those two, James van Riemsdyk in front, and Charlie McAvoy at the point.
Overall, Coyle has recorded a point in 26 of 44 games (59%), but he’s been hitting at a much higher rate recently.
The 31-year-old veteran is riding a three-game point streak and has 13 points in his last 12. He came out of the holiday break red-hot with a seven-game point streak, was held off the scoresheet in two straight on the road, and then got back with this current run.
The Bruins should be able to put at least a few goals up on the board against an up-and-down Canadiens team at the end of a long road trip. Marchand and Pastrnak get all the shine — and have their point totals at 1.5. Take advantage of their center at a -160 price tonight.
My best bet: Charlie Coyle Over 0.5 points (-160 at SIA)

Canadiens vs Bruins same-game parlay
The Canadiens have been sneaky good this season. Sure, they’re not going to threaten for the playoffs, but they’re above both the Buffalo Sabres and Ottawa Senators in the Atlantic Division standings.
The Habs are 19-19-7 with eight of those regulation losses by two goals or fewer, so they’ve covered +2.5 goals in 34 of 45 games this season.
Then, we’re going to add in the Under 6.5. That covers a loss of 1-0, 2-0, 2-1, 3-0, 3-1, 3-2, and 4-2. Of course, we’re out of luck if this game goes to overtime tied at three — but the draw bet at +350 isn’t a bad look at all.
We’re getting +145 for the Canadiens to keep the game close in a low-scoring affair against a Bruins team that just wants to win; they don’t care about style points.

The total is set at a flat six with the Over 6 (-120) and Under 6 (+100) at Sports Interaction.
