The winless Atlanta Braves continue their three-game set with the unbeaten Los Angeles Dodgers tonight at Dodger Stadium in Southern California.

With two quality arms on the hill, I’ll dive into why I believe it will be a lower-scoring game here in my Braves vs Dodgers predictions.

Keep reading for my MLB picks for Tuesday, April 1.

Braves vs Dodgers prediction

My Braves vs Dodgers best bet: Under 7.5 (-105 at FanDuel)

I know what you’re thinking: How will the Los Angeles Dodgers hit the Under when they score so many runs per game?

For starters, the reigning Cy Young winner is on the hill for the Atlanta BravesChris Sale. While the lefty wasn’t great in his season debut against the San Diego Padres as he allowed three earned runs, I expect him to bounce back here.

Sale tossed six innings of one-run baseball against the Dodgers last season, holding this current lineup to a .219 average. Only Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts are hitting over .300 against him.

As for Dustin May, he’s a bit of a wild card because the righty hasn’t pitched since 2023 due to injury. It's hard to know what version of him we’ll get in his season debut, but May did have a respectable 2.63 ERA in 2023.

Honestly, I don’t think it matters who throws against the Braves right now. They’re 29th in the big leagues with a mere 1.6 runs scored per game. This offense is struggling immensely and has managed to smack just 4.4 hits per contest.

Both starters should have some success here, and I expect the bullpens to keep it low-scoring. Three of the last six meetings have cashed the Under 7.5 runs.

Braves vs Dodgers same-game parlay (SGP)

Under 7.5

Shohei Ohtani Over 0.5 home runs

Mookie Betts Over 0.5 hits

Shohei Ohtani has already picked up where he left off from his electrifying 2024 season. The Japanese superstar is batting .286 with two homers and two RBI in six games.

Of course, it’s always a huge gamble taking a player to hit an anytime HR, but with a guy like Ohtani, anything is possible. Also, he swung it very well against the Braves last season, slashing .385 in seven contests with three bombs and 10 RBI.

Mookie Betts has played in just three games so far as the Dodgers gave him some rest after battling a brutal illness before the season. However, the former MVP has produced the goods, hitting .385 with two home runs and four RBI.

As I mentioned, Betts has enjoyed success vs. Sale, slashing .333 with four hits (two doubles) in 12 ABs in his career. A simple base knock would do the job here. Not impossible by any means.
