The Calgary Flames host the New York Islanders this evening at the Scotiabank Saddledome, and the NHL odds have this game as a pick ‘em.

Calgary is searching for its second straight victory, and my Flames vs. Islanders predictions believe Yegor Sharangovich will aid in doing so.

Read on for my NHL picks for Tuesday, November 19.

Flames vs Islanders prediction

My Flames pick
Yegor Sharangovich anytime goalscorer (+220 at BET99)

My Flames analysis
The Calgary Flames have recorded at least one point in five of their past seven games, and part of this trend is due to the increasingly stronger play of forward Yegor Sharangovich. He’s posted two goals over that stretch, one of which came on the power play.

That is one way to score on the New York Islanders, who rank 29th in penalty kill percentage.

Another way to score on the Islanders is at even strength, given they also rank 20th in xGA/60 at 5-on-5. This is good news for Sharangovich, who skates on the first line alongside Jonathan Huberdeau and Connor Zary.

The Flames just recently made the switch to this grouping, and they're expected to go against New York’s first line of Anders Lee, Bo Horvat, and Jean-Gabriel Pageau. The Lee-Horvat-Pageau line ranks in the bottom half of the league among all forward groupings to have played at least 90 minutes together this season.

Finally, normal starting goaltender Ilya Sorokin is projected to get the night off, which is more good news for Sharangovich & Co. Not that Semyon Varlamov is a poor backup by any means, but his .892 SV% is a substantial dip from Sorokin’s .913 mark.

Flames vs Islanders same-game parlay (SGP)

Yegor Sharangovich anytime goalscorer

Connor Zary Over 0.5 assists

Flames moneyline

Connor Zary skates alongside Sharangovich on both the first line and the PP1. Zary acts as the primary facilitator on that line, which is why he's tied for second among all forwards on the team in assists.

With Sorokin sitting out and Calgary's offense clicking, the Flames will leave with two points tonight.
