We have a loaded 15-game NHL slate on Saturday, with plenty of player props to choose from across the board.

I’ve compiled my three best NHL player props for Saturday. As always, make sure you keep an eye on the odds and available pricing due to the ever-changing nature of the player prop market.

Here are my free NHL picks in the NHL player prop market for Saturday, November 23.

Today’s NHL prop picks and best bets

Prop bet #1: Martin Necas (1+ goals)

+145 at BetRivers

The Columbus Blue Jackets host the Carolina Hurricanes at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday evening. These are two teams trending in opposite directions, with Carolina winning seven of its past 10 games and Columbus dropping seven over the same stretch.

These trends are likely to continue, given that the Canes’ offense is likely to light the lamp early and often against the Jackets. This season, the Hurricanes rank third in goals scored per game, while Columbus ranks 30th in goals allowed per game.

Leading the way for Carolina is forward Martin Necas, who is first on the team in goals (11) and second in power-play goals (4). This success is likely to continue against the Blue Jackets, a team that ranks 20th in penalty-kill percentage.

Subsequently, goaltender Elvis Merzlikins has struggled behind the product in front of him. Merzlikins possesses a .895 SV% and 3.02 GAA through 11 starts.

Prop bet #2: Andrei Svechnikov (1+ goals)

+185 at FanDuel

My thinking here is simple: I am confident that at least one of Necas or Andrei Svechnikov scores in this game, which guarantees a profit. If both score, all the better.

I mentioned in the previous section that Necas is second on the team in power play goals, which is likely to come into play against a Columbus team that struggles on the power play. The only Carolina skater with more goals on the man-advantage this season is Svechnikov, with five.

These two forwards thrive on the first power play unit. Additionally, Necas has scored in three of the past four games in which Svechnikov has scored, presenting a potential double-up opportunity.

Prop bet #3: Mikael Granlund (Over 0.5 power-play points)

+225 at bet365

An hour later, the San Jose Sharks host the Buffalo Sabres. Sticking with the theme of special teams, I want to fade Buffalo, especially on the second half of a back-to-back.

First, it struggles to stay out of the box, ranking 30th in penalty minutes taken per game. Subsequently, when short-handed, the Sabres struggle to keep the puck out of the net as they rank in the league's bottom half in penalty kill percentage.

Finally, Buffalo is forced to go with James Reimer between the pipes due to the back-to-back, a waiver pick-up from Anaheim. Reimer is 0-2 through two starts with a .864 SV% and 4.50 GAA.

That brings me to Mikael Granlund, who leads the team with eight points on the power play. A third of his offensive production this season has come on the man advantage, a trend that should present itself against a tired Sabres team coming off an OT victory against the Ducks last night.
