The 2025 season couldn’t have started in more opposite directions for the World Series hopeful Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers. Atlanta is still looking for its first win, while Los Angeles has cruised to a 5-0 start.

My Braves vs. Dodgers predictions call for more of the same from the L.A. bats and a solid first start from strikeout-artist Tyler Glasnow.

Braves vs Dodgers prediction

My Braves vs Dodgers best bet: Dodgers -1.5 (-110 at Caesars)

The Atlanta Braves have lost four straight to start the year and failed to score a run in each of their past two games, so a date with the 5-0 Los Angeles Dodgers doesn’t set up well for them.

Of course, the Dodgers are also sending Tyler Glasnow to the hill, and he fanned nine batters across five innings to round out his spring with a solid 3.29 ERA and 2.11 xFIP. Glasnow threw 73 pitches in the outing, so I anticipate him being stretched enough to complete at least five frames.

The 31-year-old righty was also lights out when healthy last year. His 2.68 xFIP and .189 opposing batting average ranked fourth among starters with at least 120 innings, and Glasnow’s 32.2% K-rate was the third highest.

Offense hasn’t been a problem for the Dodgers to start the year, either. They’ve scored four or more in each game to cover the run line in four of five. Additionally, after finishing second with a .335 wOBA against right-handed pitchers in 2024, Los Angeles has started this season with a .364 mark.

The Los Angeles lineup is loaded, and I’m expecting it to do damage against Atlanta starter Grant Holmes. Holmes posted a 4.01 ERA as a starter for the Braves last season, and while his 1.76 mark across 15 1/3 spring innings jumps off the page, Holmes’ underlying 5.08 xFIP suggests there’s trouble ahead.

Caesars QuickPick: Our Braves vs Dodgers same-game parlay (SGP)

Dodgers -1.5 run line

Mookie Betts Over 1.5 total bases

Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 total bases

Dodgers stars Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman have teed off on righties throughout their careers and sport monster numbers to start the year. Betts is 3-for-6 with a pair of home runs, and Freeman is 3-for-8 with a double and two homers against right-handed arms.

Betts entered the 2025 campaign with a monster .380 wOBA, .237 ISO, and .367 on-base percentage against righties over the prior three years, and Freeman was every bit as dangerous with respective .399, .205, and .414 marks.

Look for more crooked numbers in their box scores when it's all said and done.
