If the Yankees were remotely healthy, I'd lean toward them on the run line with Cam Schlittler toeing the rubber opposite Michael McGreevy. Alas, with Aaron Judge, Cody Bellinger, and Giancarlo Stanton all still on the shelf and Jazz Chisholm seemingly not at 100%, I don't expect New York to be the team to punish McGreevy's questionable underlying metrics. I also don't expect this Cardinals offense to suddenly find its groove against arguably the AL's best starter.

Brandon Lowe is one of my favorite player props on Monday's slate, and I think the market has this one priced too low. This is his 106th elite Batters-Box rating, and over the previous 105, he has cleared 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI 62.86% of the time, including an impressive 70.21% clip in road elite ratings. Lowe has also been swinging a hot bat against right handed pitching, while Brandon Sproat continues to struggle against lefties. Between the matchup, recent form, and long term Batters-Box trends, Lowe is in an excellent position to cash this prop.

Somehow, some way, the Pirates have scored the second-most runs in baseball in 2026. And even with Oneil Cruz and Ryan O'Hearn sidelined, I like the offense to do enough damage against Brandon Sproat to help run up the score. Bubba Chandler has had his moments, but he's routinely allowing 3-5 runs in a start. He's got heat on the fastball, and that's about it. The Brewers can make him pay. With two shaky starters on the bump, I'll go with the Over.

The wind is blowing in (5-7 mph) at Wrigley, and we have two effective starters, so you know the drill. Matthew Boyd has allowed just two earned runs in his last 20 IP, and he'll have a potent bullpen behind him (2.41 ERA, 3.38 FIP since the Break). The Dodgers are 5-9 O/U in Justin Wrobleski's (2.88 ERA, 0.96 WHIP) last 14 starts.
This line is artificially short because the Dodgers are off a sweep (to the historically hot Red Sox - who cares?) and the Cubs demolish left-handed pitching. Justin Wrobleski's reverse splits (.213/.252/.322 against right-handed hitters) should offset that concern against a lineup projected to feature at least seven righties.

San Diego has maintained a team strikeout rate below 20% over its last 21 games, and its projected lineup features no hitters above the league average strikeout rate. With both the matchup and Pfaadt's profile working against a big strikeout total, the under is my favorite look, even at a price as high as -160.

Moneyline
This is the most common and easiest wager for a bettor to make when it comes to MLB picks. Basically, to win an MLB moneyline pick, you just have to choose which team will win the game.
It's simple: if you bet the White Sox moneyline over the Red Sox and Chicago wins, you win your bet.
Run line
The run line is another name for a point spread that you may be more familiar with in NBA and NFL betting. A point spread varies in the NFL and NBA from as little as 0.5 points up to double-digit spreads. A baseball run line is almost always a 1.5-point spread.
The favorite will be -1.5 while the underdog will be +1.5. At the end of the game, if you take away 1.5 runs from the favorite or add 1.5 runs to the underdog and they end up winning the game, you win your MLB pick against the spread.
Totals (Over/Under)
Another common wager is to bet on the total in baseball, which is a bet on the total runs scored in the baseball game. You are simply choosing whether the final score will be Over or Under that total. Betting the Over/Under on a matchup is a great way to get started in MLB score predictions.
