@Raiders22 Maybe it is an OJ strategy to present different alternatives from different lines of questioning. But I have not seen that yet. They seem focused on contributory factors of death (manslaughter) rather than claim the Officer was no factor (complete acquittal). Given that the Government never offered a plea to manslaughter (and my opinion is that is only because of the publicity), it isn't surprising that this becomes defense strategy.
How much, if any, did they key in on his past complaints? Maybe that forced them down that path?

That defense is flimsy at best about the taser/gun. These people though are giving police a reason to fear for their safety though. There are thousands upon thousands of people of all races stopped by police and this crap doesn't happen and no one is shot or harmed. It's people who want to fight and resist who end up having bad experiences, including death.

defense today put into evidence today a arrest made by another officer against floyd where floyd was on opiods about a year before he was killed/in my opinion is not relavant cause what floyd did or didnt do doesnt matter itsabout what chauvin did defense is getting destroyed in cross examinations chauvin will be found guilty i believe just dont know what he will be convicted of as he did contribute to his death

@benhogan76 They were. In fact, from watching the defense presentation thus far, I believe they are conceding manslaughter but arguing no malice aforethought as well as contributing factors to the death.
Not saying I disagree but both sides of most any high profile case can get “experts” to testify to their end.

I read that as well. Also, read the guy had overdosed some time before, etc. Not sure if this has been brought up.

This is an open-in-shut Manslaughter conviction. he'll get 8, do 6, be on the street in 4.5....The real question here is "where is he going to do his time" PC? (realistically speaking, 'the hole') I don't think so. GP? he'll be gone in 72hrs....Which gives me reasoning to believe that alternate measures may be applied in a case where a white police officer is sent to prison for Murdering an African-American AKA George Floyd. may he RIP.
I see years of 'house arrest' connected to a tethering system, leading to an out of state halfway house. The DOC will improvise, and secure the situation.
Manslaughter² -340 ML
Murder 1st Degree +4500 ML
Murder² +450 ML

Its state, not federal time so he will be in a the closest state jail outside of Minnesota that has the jail transfer agreement with Minnesota (I actually think it is Illinois, but that is simply by memory).
No criminal history so he will be in immediate maximum detention for 30 days until he is moved to medium (assuming his sentence is under 10 years, which is likely).
With that said, the Minn. statute allows for a depraved indifference finding for a murder conviction. Murder at +450 would be a good play, albeit a morbid bet.

I hope not but fairly confident there will be some who do. I don’t know, does Minnesota have death penalty? Seems unlikely to me, guessing that is only thing that may stop city being burned. Hope I am wrong.
Competely different situation but Montreal imposed curfew last week because of Covid and fukface protesters go to streets to smash window fronts of privately owned stores, burn sh it and loot. Would love to have one of them explain how that helps?

Even if carbon monoxide from tailpipe exhaust had anything to do with his cause of death (which it didn't) who was it who put him helpless handcuffed in that position to breathe in that poison gas? Derek Chauvin, wasn't it? Either way he killed him, either with his knee on his neck or from placing him in front a the tailpipe of a running car. Even if he died from carbon monoxide poisoning, Chauvin is still responsible for causing his death.

If we had a law enforcement officer not a pig in tights Floyd would be in a holding cell awaiting pretrial bail hearing.

According to a poll conducted by Yahoo News/YouGov, found 34.5 percent of respondents saying they have watched less sports due to social justice campaigns. Personally I would’ve thought it was more.

Pretty straightforward actually. Hard to think someone does not know this.
At any rate, this link explains one guy’s thoughts on this. It also touches on what I always say about pulling your gun for the first time.
